Disclaimer: I do not own Peter Pan, Neverland nor any other character in the Peter Pan universe, just the plotline.

Slightly's POV

Today, I realized something.

Our leader is a little schemer. And he's good because I only figured out his plan days after he carried it out. Why hadn't I noticed something strange about Peter's behaviour? He'd kept to himself and had started running off to 'do things' without us. I think this all lead to one event two days ago.

I'm hanging out with the eternal youth on the beach. We're just swimming and stuff with the other lost boys and Wendy's brothers. One moment everyone's having fun and the next thing I know, Peter's drowning. It was pretty frightening, you know! I mean, what if Peter died?

So, we take him out of the water —the boy is so heavy. All of us are standing there wondering how to get him to breathe when Wendy comes and says she know how. Mothers know everything so of course, we simply watch her curiously. We're all thinking, what's she going to do?

She places her hands on top of each other and starts to press down on Peter's chest very quickly. When that seems ineffective (learned that word from Wendy) she braces herself and cups Peter's face in her palms. Then, she leans closer and closer and…she thimbles the eternal boy! I can't say that THAT was appropriate.

Peter's eyes fly open suddenly and he has this stupid, almost satisfied look on his face. The next thing is even more unexpected. Peter turns a bright shade of pink and flies off in the direction of hangman's tree. And everyone is left on the beach, mouths agape. What. The heck. Just. Happened?

Meanwhile, I'm there just making my new year's resolution. I am so not thimbling ANYBODY if they drown!

After we get home Wendy tells us to change our wet clothes. But, we all know what's really important at the moment. What was Peter's reaction about?

Right then, the boy walks in all nonchalant (another word I picked up from Wendy) and cool like he owns the place, 'cause he kinda does. Everyone is looking at Peter, waiting for some excuse for his behaviour. However, we're all too afraid to ask him about it. After a while, he matter-of-factly states that he just fell asleep while swimming and then he thanks Wendy for 'helping out'. That's as much credit as he'll give anyone.

Maybe it's just me but I know I see Peter smirking like a maniac. It's all very strange yet I shrug it off, forgetting that before we'd left for the beach Peter had smiled the same way he usually does when he's up to something.

If I'd had more sense and probably less hunger I would've surely dug deeper into Peter's weird ways. I would've found out about his planned stolen kiss earlier, rather than realizing it two days later.

Oh! The cleverness of Peter Pan!
