When I first saw him we were 5. I was playing in the meadow just outside of the castle gate making daisy chains. He was over by the tree just staring at me. It was hard to look at him; the sun was right behind him shinning off his golden hair like an angle. It took a couple of days for him to come say hello to me. When he did he waited for me to stop what I was doing and look at him.

Then he told 'I am going to play with. So tell me how to do that with the flowers.'

I looked up at him. Stood up and said 'you do not speech to a lady like that you rude boy' and poked my tongue out at him and sat down.

'How dare you speak to me like that I am prince and YOU will address me so!' He yelled.

I stood up and kindly said 'Sorry your highness but you do no speak to a lady like that it is rude and down write mean. I will not play with you today cause of the way you spoke to me so GO AWAY'. He looked thoughtful then sad and turned away and went back to the tree.

He did not come out at all for the next week. The day he did, he came up to me. He just stood there and again waited for my attention. 'I am sorry for my behaviour it will not happen again' he paused waiting for a response.

'I forgive you' I said as I nodded.

'My name is Erik. And I would like you to play with me?' I looked at him for a moment and agreed.

'Hello Erik my name is Thea and you may play with me.' Sat down, looked up at me and smiled.

'Thank you Thea would you please show me how to do that with the flowers'. I showed him how to make a daisy chain. 'You are not from around here are you?' he asked me.

'No I'm not. My family has just moved here two weeks ago. After my sister died of fever. Mother and father could not stand all the memories, you?'

'My family have lived and ruled these lands for centuries and I have two brothers and a sister.'

We just sat there in silence for the rest of the day. Till the sun was setting. 'It is getting dark I should be going home. I hope to see you tomorrow? I asked

'I will try but father has me practicing how to use weapons. But I will try.' He smiled.
