Written in response to the first challenge on the fastastic new site .
Write a story in 1000 words or less indicating a change in the lives of Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle.
The first of many changes.
Gil and Sara had been seeing each other, secretly, for a few months and had got to the stage in their relationship where they were staying over at each other's places.
Sara woke first snuggled beside Gil in his king sized bed. She knew he needed to sleep after pulling a double so she got out of bed and decided to explore his house, hoping he wouldn't mind, but she wanted to know more about the 'private' Gil Grissom.
As Sara explored the kitchen she decided to surprise Gil and make pancakes for breakfast so she looked through the cupboards but couldn't find the mix.
"What are you looking for?" said a very sexy, sleepy voice behind her.
"Pancake mix, I thought I would surprise you, but I can't find it," said a slightly embarrassed Sara.
Gil went to the cupboard to get the flour and the fridge to get the milk and eggs and put them on the worktop.
"You make them from scratch!" exclaimed a surprised Sara.
"Yes, how do you make them?"
"With a mix I get from the store. My cooking skills consist of take-out on speed dial."
"I love to cook. My mom was an excellent cook and she taught me when I was a child. I find it relaxing and enjoy experimenting with different recipes."
"Your mom must have been a special person."
"Yes, she was. Now come on I'll teach you how to make real pancakes, it'll be fun," Gil said taking a pan and mixing bowl out.
"They taste completely different," Sara said tucking into her fourth.
"So you enjoyed your first cookery lesson?"
"Very much."
That cookery lesson was the first of many changes in the lives and Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle.
