Mimbulus Mimbletonia

The Mimbulus Mimbletonia patted its pus-filled outer layer, straightened its spikes, and adjusted the dirt in its pot. Tonight, it had a date with Ginny Weasley.

Just then, someone knocked on its pot. "Yes?" queried the Mimbulus Mimbletonia, by way of pus-spraying all over the knocker. "Oh, Mimbly, I love you too!" shrieked Ginny and hugged it. Mimbly giggled (rattled its spikes) and signaled an end to the hug by sticking its spines into her.

"Where are we going tonight, Mimbly?" asked Ginny happily. She knew the Mimbulus Mimbletonia loved her, even if it kept acting as though it would rather her dead. Mimbly pointed with one of its spikes towards the window.

"Out the window, Mimbly? Are you sure? I can't fly, you know…" Ginny hesitated. Mimbly emphasised his point by squirting some pus in that direction. Ginny giggled. "Okay, Mimbly!" she agreed and opened the window. Unfortunately, the Mimbulus Mimbletonia being Neville's, she was at the top of Gryffindor Tower. She admired the view, before climbing up onto the windowsill in preparation of her jump out.

At that moment, Neville walked into his bedroom. "Uh, Ginny…shouldn't you not be about to jump out my window?"

Ginny cackled evilly and jumped out. "The Mimbulus Mimbletonia will love me now!" she cried as she descended.

In the Greenhouses, where he had been working tirelessly on a cure for Mimbulus Mimbletonia-induced hallucinations, Harry looked up through the roof and noticed Ginny jump out of Neville's window.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he screamed. He carefully stacked all of the tools away after cleaning them in the appropriate procedures as commanded on the signs on the wall, walked outside at top speed (there was a "No Running" sign), and dropped to his knees beside her, heedless of the fact he was two centimetres onto the grass and there was a "Keep off the Grass" sign. "Ginny, speak to me!"

Ginny revived. "Damn, I thought you were Mimbly," she said. She punched him and collapsed back to unconsciousness – never to revive again.

Neville decided it might be time to get a new pot-plant.
