Chapter 1
Gabriella went into the studio. She was a dancer and had to practice for the competition. She put on the song "All American Girl" by Carrie Underwood. She stared to dance. She thought she heard footsteps, but shook it off. As she finished the dance, she saw a brown figure. She finished in a pose then heard clapping. She turned and saw two girls. "Um….uh hi," Gabriella said quietly. "Hi, I'm Taylor and this is Sharpay," the brown girl as she pointed to the white girl. They were both dressed in dance gear. "We are on the East High dance team," Sharpay said. "Cool… um my name is Gabriella, Gabi for short," Gabi said as she held out her hand. Taylor shook her hand; Sharpay did the same after Taylor. "So do you go to East High?" Sharpay asked as Gabi got her stuff. "I'm going to, I'm new here," Gabi said as she followed the girls down the hall."Cool, you can hang out with us there," Taylor said as they started to walk to the lake. They sat down and started to talk.
