Leader Stands Alone
So you sailed away… into the your lover's arms…
Left me to stand there watching you drift…
Happy your face, as he caught you…
Standing in the shadows in melancholy…
No relation to a melon or collie
Watching from a distance…
Ignored as if never existing…
Heart sank into depression but learned…
Learned how to grow up…
But growing up hurts…
Wished I was a kid again…
Everything was fun then…
Now everything rends my lonely heart…
Loved you from an unknown distance…
But never was it mutual…
Still I don't understand…
Maybe I'm not supposed to…
As if a brother, father, or just simple friend,
I sit in the benches of the church and cry inside
While smiling at the newly wed
Proud or Jealous?
…no answer…
Gathering my will power, I stood up, but froze at my spot while everyone left…
Alone, I look up…
And asked,
