Request for hellyeahangels on tumblr! This oneshot is 644 words. I would have made it longer, but this was a request so I tried to make it snappy.

Eridan enjoyed evenings with Rose, no matter whether they were spent chit-chatting or simply sipping tea. Sometimes the blonde girl would turn on the radio, humming quietly to the sound of it. They would sit there in the parlor for hours, Eridan content with just listening to the sound of Rose's mumbling. On this particular evening, Rose had strutted away to get a box of tissues for her slightly runny nose. Sadly, it was allergy season. Pollen was everywhere. Thank goodness Eridan didn't have to put up with a horrid immune system.

The violet eyed Aquarius glanced at the Lalonde's tea cup. Se put so many different things in the Earl Grey liquid that it was hard to keep tab of it all. Rose out of eyesight, he lifted the cup to his lips with closed eyes, the sweet odor wafting up to his nose. It smelled like lavender. He knew it almost instantly. In fact, most of his cologne, or 'perfume' as Feferi called it, had a strong lavender scent. As soon as he finished fawning over the aroma, Eridan sipped. Immediately, a painfully familiar sense of longing hit his taste buds.

Honey.

The tea tasted like honey.

He immediately set the cup down, memories of Sollux entering his mind almost immediately. The sickly sweet taste of that bastard's forked tongue, and the mood of a true Gemini to balance it. Rose rounded the corner, dabbing gently at her nose and smiling with her thin-lips.

As her eyes landed on his, the joyful look fell off of her face, and a blonde eyebrow perched itself. "What's wrong, Eridan?" The Lalonde asked quietly.

"Nothing's wrong," The hipster blew it off, shrugging nonchalantly, "Jus' waitin' for yah to come back 'twas all."

"Hmm… Well, alright." Rose sat down in her chair, feet raising up to her chest as she got comfortable. Her gaze returned to him, pink eyes giving off their usual sparkle. "What shall we talk about now, then?" It was already five o'clock and getting dark, far past the time Ampora usually got home. Cursed daylights saving time.

With a swift movement, the blackette was out of his chair, stuttering out, "I think I'll be headin' home n' shit, actually. It's getting' later tha' usual." He complained, throwing her a slightly remorseful look. In truth, Eridan got emotionally shaken whenever he thought about Sollux. He needed to go home and collect his thoughts.

Rose nodded in understanding, smiling fondly, "I'll see you out."

As Eridan stepped out, the cold air bit at his nose. Nevertheless, he turned around to say goodbye to Rose and thank her for the stay when a hand grabbed at his collar. It pulled him down, and, suddenly, his lips were pressed against Rose's. The bleach blonde wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer as his eyes only grew to be the size of saucers. After a minute with no response, Rose pulled away frowing at him. "I'm sorry… I should have a-"

Eridan pulled her close to him without a second thought, arms almost forcefully connecting their bodies. His eyelids finally closed, lips moving against hers in a rhythm to which she responded immediately. It was sloppy, but the beat was impeccable. The rhythm flowed smoothly, as if they were each other's bows to their own violins. The kiss escalated far past what it should have, to a full-fledged French Kiss.

Eridan loved how she tasted. It was jut like her tea, with the faint lick of honey. His heartache grew every minute, but he couldn't break the kiss off until they both needed air. After regaining his posture, the Ampora took a deep breath.

"Stop puttin' ney in yer tea." It wasn't a request, but he wasn't demanding either.

Rose raised an eyebrow, pulling him by the hand back into her house.

"Alright then."
