Summary: Challege!Fic from Kumori Con '07! A mysterious bottle has appeared in the office of Roy Mustang, what are they to do? ONE-SHOT

Rating: K Because nothing really scary happens here.

Other Stuff: This was a challenge one-shot I wrote at Kumori Con '07. This story features ramune, Japanese soda. You can Google it for more information if you like. I do describe a bottle of this soda in the story, so no worries there.

Break to start the story where I would normally put a chapter title

They weren't sure where it came from, or even what I was. It just sat there on the desk. Said object was a glass bottle that had it's neck divided into a separate chamber from the body. This bottle contained some form of liquid. It had a blue plastic cap with what they thought was a little glass window on the top.

"So… what now?" A large man asked as he and his companions stood around the strange container. The man rubbed his hand through his short, red hair.

"I don't know…." The youngest man there admitted. He had black hair and boxy glasses.

"You think we should wait for the chief?" The tallest man asked as he lit a cigarette.

"I think that would be best." Another man remarked. He was older, with gray hair.

"Hey blond! Put out that cigarette! This thing might be flammable!" A chair was knocked over in the red-haired man's hurry to stand.

"Okay!" The tall blond put out his cigarette.

It was at this time two new people arrived. One was a blond, no-nonsense woman. Her companion was a handsome black haired man.

"Hmm?" The male arrival asked. Suddenly the rest of the room jumped to their feet and saluted him.

"Sir!" They chorused.

"What is that?" The black haired man pointed to the bottle.

"We don't know Colonel," the mousey man with the glasses explained, "and we aren't sure how it got here either."

"It looks like a beverage bottle." The woman observed.

"Well, I guess we can open it then…." The Colonel picked up the bottle. After a short examination he discovered he could unscrew the cap. Soon after opening the liquid bubbled.

"Oh! It must be carbonated," the gray haired man observed, "it should still be safe to drink."

And so the Colonel took a drink. He began coughing and hacking.

What the Colonel had failed to observed when he initially examined the bottle was that there was a little glass ball that had made up the window of the cap. It was on this ball that he choked.

And somewhere else in the same city a young blond boy was laughing.

This story was for the prompt: choking on a ramune ball. Its best read out loud. What do you think?
