Prologue
Luke Castellan knew that he had messed up. He was aligned with Kronos, who wanted to destroy his dad and the rest of the Olympians. That was not the worst part though. Not only did Kronos want to wipe out everything he knows and loves, he wants to destroy Percy. That's right, Kronos wanted to destroy Percy Jackson, the boy that Luke had a crush on. He knew that Percy was seven years younger than him, but he just could not get the boy's raven hair or sea-green eyes out of his head.
Luke shook his sandy-blond hair and started to make his way out of the forest. As he looked around camp, he caught sight of Annabeth, his closest friend for over five years, bounding towards him from the archery range. He didn't really catch anything the blonde said after, "Hey Luke." Honestly, he knew that Annabeth had a huge crush on him, but he couldn't bring himself to tell her that he wasn't interested. "Luke. Luke, are you even listening to me?" asked Annabeth. Luke was suddenly brought out of his thoughts, and calmly replied, "Of course I was, Annabeth. I would never ignore you."
"Anyway," Annabeth continued, "I was hoping that you would help Percy to adjust to being the son of Poseidon." Suddenly, with that sentence, Luke got a fantastic idea. He had learnt from Grover that Percy felt abandoned by his dad. If he could convince Percy to switch to the side of the Titans, Kronos would have no reason to destroy Percy, and Luke would not have to harm his crush at all. He turned to his best friend and said, "Sure thing, Annie," and ran away before Annabeth could reprimand him.
