Chapter 2: Long Road

So, after watching my friends get stabbed in the back and kicked mercilessly, then myself getting stabbed in the neck with a giant needle, I was thrown into the back of a hovering car thing with Caleb, Calvin, Jack, and Rebecca. As I woke, I became aware of horrible pains in my legs and arms. I was still sick to my stomach, but now burning heat raced through me. My heart was beating a million miles an hour. All I could see was a blurry white wall... then three smudges huddled against it. "Caleb?" I whispered, unable to speak any louder. I tried to crawl to him, but dizzy spots clouded my blurry vision, weakness settled on my bones. I slumped back to the floor and looked for Rebecca. She was curled in a ball near me, crying silently. "Becca?" I whispered. I patted her knee weakly and slowly moved to her side. I gasped as pain ripped through my chest. "We gotta get out... " groaned Rebecca. " Im gonna die... please... someone help.." I grabbed her hand. " Becca no one is gonna die! hang on... we'll get through this..." I passed in and out of conciousness for what seemed like days. I fought against the weakness and finally dragged myself to Caleb's side. I gasped as soon as I saw his back. It was cut deeply, dried blood covered his shoulders and back. Whatever the silvers had stuck in his back was now two massive humps that looked ready to bust any moment. "Mom..." he whispered. "Mom where are you?" I took his hand. He felt way to warm, his forhead was burning. "Caleb... we will find her. It's ok... oh I am so sorry...I wish I could heal you." I whispered. " Ty..ty..ree.." he whispered, "please help... It hurts so bad..." I decided to at least try and placed a hand on one of his jagged cuts. I imagined new skin covering the wound. Nothing happened, so I tried again- this time imagining the pain coming away from him and into me. I tried again, putting all I had into it, Caleb was breathing weakly- I had no idea how long he would last. I had to believe it would work... suddenly a warm, golden glow spread from my fingers. I gasped, doubling over in pain. Now I literally was feeling his wounds. I saw Rebecca crawling over out of the corner of my eye. My back was on fire, I felt stabing pain in my head and bones but I refused to take my hand away. Black washed over my vision, and I collapsed onto Becca's lap. We stopped a while later and the silvers gave us some kale leaves and water. Rebecca and I tried to get the boys to eat and drink, but Calvin would not wake up. "Becca, lets try healing him again, " I said. We put our hands on Calvin's back and began to glow. The same sickening, hot pain flashed through my back. Rebecca slumped into Jack's arms, I was only able to hold on a few minutes more before I passed out.
