Prologue

She inhaled sharply. He was running faster than she had ever thought he could now, his leather jacket flying out like a cape behind him. Still, she stared at him, her round hazelnut eyes burning a hole in the train window. She exhaled, her breath causing the glass to become steamy, no longer as clear or easy to see the distressing scene outside through. He continued to run towards the platform.

The train surged forwards, and as the love of her life disappeared from her view, the emotions she had locked away for too long escaped in the form of a thousand tears.
