Neku looked down at the brown haired teen standing in front of him. He frowned deeply.
"Excuse me?"
Shiki smiled lightly to herself. "That's what you said. 'I don't need you. I don't need anyone.' On the first day, remember?" She leaned back into Neku, sighing softly as she watched the rushing cars below the bridge.
Neku rested his chin on her head, nodding before doing so. "Yeah, I remember."
"Funny though," Shiki continued, feeling his arms wrap protectively around her waist. "You said that, and so deeply believed in it. But…now…" she trailed off, pushing her glasses back into place.
The taller teen's lips twitched into a small smile. Kissing Shiki softly on the top of her head, he murmured into her ear, "Sometimes, things change."
