CHAPTER ONE

Jacob had been doing his rounds when Sam had told him that the elders requested his pack's and his presence at a meeting that was being called. Jacob did not want to go, but he knew it was his duty as an Alpha to remain in touch with the elders. Also, it had been several days since he had seen his father. So, he instructed Leah, Quil, Embry, and Seth, who were also on rounds, to head to La Push. He phased and went inside the Cullen home to say good-bye to Nessie and to tell the Cullens where he and the pack were going.

"I don't know how long I'll be, but I'll let you know as soon as I can," he told Nessie.

"Be safe, Jake," Nessie responded. She had taken to using this phrase ever since the incident with the Volturi. She was more worried than ever for her family's safety.

"I will be, Nessie." He kissed her forehead, walked outside, phased, and headed to La Push.

He arrived at the beach where everyone was gathered. He looked around and saw that it wasn't just the elders and the packs in attendance. Along with Billy, Quil Sr., Sue, Sam, Paul, Jared, Colin, Brady, Seth, Leah, Embry, and Quil Jr., were Emily, Rachel, and Kim.

"What's this about?" he addressed the group.

Seth answered. "I don't know. They wouldn't tell anyone until you got here. Not even Sam knows," he added the last part quietly though all the wolves could still hear him.

"Everyone, please take a seat," Billy requested.

Everyone did, and he signaled to Sue. She pulled out a pile of four books and a letter. She handed the letter to Billy who read aloud.

Dear Quileutes,

I have given you these four books in the hopes of increasing your understanding of the Cullens. While I know this idea may not appeal to some of you, it is important. The elders, the packs, and the imprints should all be involved in this. The elders and packs for obvious reasons, but the imprints because they deserve not to be left out. Read these four books completely from beginning to end. They are in Bella's point of view except for one chapter at the end of the third book and quite a few chapters in the middle of the fourth book. Do not judge anyone until all the books are finished.

~A Friend~

P.S. Jake's Pack: Do not return to the Cullens until you have finished the book. I know this will be especially difficult for Jake, but I promise it will be worth it. When the books are done and you finally return, Edward will not be able to read anything in your mind about the books or your conversations during them. This, however, will not take effect until you have finished.

Everyone looked shocked at what had been read.

Jake was the first to speak. "Alright, then." He pulled out his cell phone. "I'm just gonna call the Cullens and tell them that it'll be a bit before any of us get back."

"So, we're doing this, then?" Seth questioned before he could dial.

Jake looked at Seth before turning to Paul. "Paul, are the Cullens good people?"

"They're vampires; they're not even people," Paul answered back without hesitation.

Jake looked back at Seth. "Seth, same question. Are the Cullens good people?"

Seth also responded without hesitation, "Absolutely."

"Quil, why did Seth and Paul respond so differently?"

"Seth has spend an extended amount of time around the Cullens; Paul has only been around them when we were fighting common enemies."

Jake nodded. "Exactly. Perhaps, seeing the Cullens through Bella's eyes will help all of us. So, yes, Seth. We are doing this."

Seth nodded.

Sam spoke up, directing his words at his pack. "Yes, we are doing this."
