Past: As a child, young Heiderich learned of alchemy from her middle aged Father. Telling stories of the great Arabs, showing her how to create a proper transmutation circle with different substances on different surfaces, and teaching her the basic and most important lesson(s) of this art; the flow of energy and equivalent exchange. Though, her Mother disagreed, calling it shrewd and not fit for the children of today. As Megan grew, her love for alchemy ceased to fade. Creating bigger and better sculptures from the ragged earth. Evaporating fresh, drinking water into oxygen. "But all good things must come to an end eventually;" her Father would say.
Her older sister; Kylee Heiderich, studied alchemy, but not as much as her little sister. Kylee's interest was automail.
When Megan had finally caught up to her older sister's age; eight. A war broke out in their home country; Creta. Their Mother and Father were killed from protecting their younglings. The two siblings escaped without a trace, but remained in Creta; for it was their home. After the war had ended, Megan and Kylee ventured out onto the bloodied clearing that once stood a great library and searched for their parents. They had made their minds up – mostly Megan – to resurrect them to life.
After the resurrected had failed. Megan lost her left arm and Kylee her right leg. Both gaining the tortures ability of knowledge. Though, Megan gained something else besides knowledge. Her mental senses came alive as she concentrated. Kylee would do the same once in a while, but kept it a secret from her excited sister. Megan's automail was created by her beloved sister. Hand crafted and everything, remaining strong and durable in all seasons from the high dosage of carbon. And doing the same to her lost, left leg.
