Summary: This is just a quick story (my first fanfic!) that I wrote about Sheppard, Ronon, and Rodney playing a card game.
Many thanks goes to Star Trek Freak for being my beta reader and for all her great comments, advice, and suggestions! (the high five at the end is one of her ideas :) )
Thanks for reading!

Slapjack
By

"Ahhh, I'm so bored," groaned Rodney as he slouched into a chair nearby Sheppard and Ronon in the deserted mess hall.
"Why don't you join our game of slapjack?" asked Sheppard.
"Oh, please. Use my superior intellect in a stupid game for preschoolers?"
"Well, McKay, if you're so afraid of losing…all you had to do was say so," Sheppard replied innocently. Ronon grinned back mischievously.
Rolling his eyes, Rodney glared at Sheppard. "Hah! Just because I don't want to waste my very valuable and precious brain cells—which, I might add, are daily used in the preservation of Atlantis—doesn't mean I'm afraid of being beaten by two strong-arms!" So declaring, he stalked over to the table and dealt himself a hand. "Let's just get this over with," he muttered.
Sometime Later
SLAP! "Another one for me," smirked Ronon, as he reached for the cards he had just won. The trio began flipping cards again.
SLAP! "Ha! Beat you that time big guy!" triumphed Sheppard.
"Oh c'mon!" whined McKay. "How do you guys DO that?!?!"
Sheppard winked at him. "Quick reflexes, McKay. You gotta be able to think fast."
"Yeah, try using some of your brain cells," added Ronon slyly.
"Please. Do you have a Ph.D. in physics? Physics, I ask you?!? No? Then just knock it off!" McKay spluttered.
Ronon simply shrugged. "Okay, ready, go!"
SLAP! "I did it!" SLAP! SLAP!
"OW! I think you broke my hand!" screeched McKay. "Didn't you two see I had slapped the jack first?"
"Oops," Ronon grinned wickedly with Sheppard.
"That's it. See if I ever play cards with you two ever again!" McKay stalked off towards the infirmary, all the while muttering something about cold showers and ill-fated pranksters. Sheppard and Ronon just laughed as they exchanged high fives.
