The tall, handsome doctor was standing in front of a board with mri-images. A deep frown was evident on his forehead as he studied them closely.
He leaned forward to study the minute details in the pictures when suddenly the door was opened.
'I'm still busy' he stated coldly.
'Law!' a happy voice let out.
Within a second he turned around and his eyes opened wide looking at the short blonde standing in front of him. He took back his usual composure within seconds.
'What are you doing here?'
She pouted. 'I came to bring you lunch, I made it myself.'
He kept staring at her. Usually he would smile and thank her for this kind gesture.
She was unsure what to do about this situation and guessed he was just so focused on his case that she had taken him by surprise with her visit.
Before he knew it she had slipped passed him and was studying the images on the board.
'Wow!' she blurted out. 'Is this a case you're working on?'
His frown returned as he looked at her expression. 'Yes'
'Is this a primary tumor or a metastasis?' she asked him.
'Primary' he responded.
She hummed holding up a few pictures up and comparing them. 'It has infiltrated quite deep into the brain though so an operation will be a great risk.'
'Yes'.
'Is the patient old?' she asked looking at him.
'No'.
She sighed. 'How sad, but you're a great surgeon so I bet you can fix it!' she smiled.
'We'll see' he responded with a small smirk.
She glanced at the clock. 'My lunch break is over already! I have to go'. She stood on her toes to meet him for a kiss.
She smiled. 'I'll see you tonight.'
He smiled at her before she left the room.
As soon as she closed the door the smile disappeared from his face. He smirked sarcastically. A good surgeon huh? Well that's not going to help me here.
She had been very busy lately with her school and they hadn't seen each other much lately. But if this had to go on for any longer she would find out for sure. His dizziness, double vision, loss of concentration and extreme headaches were getting worse with the day and he was running out of excuses.
But how could he possibly tell her this?
The door opened again.
'Law-san, it's about time we prepare you for the surgery.' a young doctor was looking at him.
He sighed after giving one last look at the images and followed the doctor.
He stared at the white ceiling. He felt more uneasy than he had anticipated. It would actually be damn nice if she were here with him.
