***Hello, everyone! This stretches way back to the whereabouts of my OC Roxanne, so if you don't remember her that well, just scroll down a bit on my page. Without further ado, Papyrus and Mettaton belong to Toby Fox, Roxanne belongs to me, and let's roll!
Roxanne paced the floor of her room, small socks padding against the hardwood floor in a slow, set rhythm. She couldn't sleep; a dull heartache kept her from doing so.
That heartache was from missing Mettaton.
It was a familiar saddened feeling; Roxanne got it every time that Mettaton was gone on tour. But, she felt an unusually-high amount of it this time. She sighed before her resolve broke.
She had to have some sort of help if she wanted to get some sleep tonight.

Papyrus awoke slowly when he was shaken. He saw that Roxanne was there. She gave a small wave.
So, Papyrus sat up and turned on his lamp. "Hello, Roxanne! What can I, the Great Father Papyrus, do for you?" He glanced at his clock. "Even though it's almost midnight?"
I miss Dad, Roxanne sighed. She only signed if she really felt down, or if she just didn't feel like talking, which she surprisingly preferred. After all, most deaf people chose to sign.
Papyrus smiled faintly. He felt that more than he could've said. "Then let's call him," was his reply.

It didn't take long to set up a call. Once they were waiting for the video chat call on Papyrus' tablet to get a reply, father and daughter sat close together in front of the screen. Roxanne eventually moved to sit on Papyrus' lamp. Because of the height difference, she fit perfectly for him to hold.
After a few more rings from the tablet, Mettaton picked up. "Hello, darlings," he said, jet-black lips curled into a warm smile.
Papyrus resolved to signing what he said in front of Roxanne because she couldn't see his nonexistent lips to read them. "Hello! Roxanne came to me and said that she missed you. Since I wholeheartedly agreed, we decided to call you," he explained.
Mettaton was a bit touched. "Oh, that's so sweet. I miss you both too. Just out of curiosity, what time is it over there? It's day time time for me," he asked.
"11:57 PM," Papyrus replied.
"Goodness! Roxanne, darling, that's a bit past your bedtime," Mettaton said.
"I know. I couldn't sleep because I missed you, Dad. We're not a full family without you," Roxanne said.
Mettaton stared at her for a moment, the smile melting into a dumbfounded expression. He took a glance at Papyrus, who shrugged slightly. Then, Mettaton met his eyes to Roxanne's eye sockets.
"Baby girl, I know how you feel. It doesn't feel right for me to be without your daddy at night, and it doesn't feel right to not get to be with you. But darling, you have to understand that I'm always coming back. And when I get back, I'll give you the biggest hug imaginable. I promise," he assured.
A smile lit across Roxanne's face. "Thank you," she said softly.
"Don't mention it, darling. Now, I hate cut this short, but I have a panel meeting to get down to. But how about you fill in for me and sleep with you daddy tonight?" Mettaton suggested. Roxanne nodded.
"Bye, Metta! The Great Papyrus loves you," Papyrus said.
"I love you both!" And with that, Mettaton hung up.
Papyrus got up and put his tablet away. When he stood at the bedside again, he looked at Roxanne for a moment.
"...I do get kind of lonely in here at night."
Roxanne giggled, but moved over and laid down under the covers. "Goodnight," he said, taking Roxanne into his lanky arms after turning off the lamp.
"Goodnight, darling," Roxanne said, badly imitation Mettaton's voice.
They both laughed at that before falling asleep.
***Again, I don't mean to offend anyone who's actually deaf. This was just me messing around and writing a bit of drabble. Anyways, be sure to leave a review on the way out and I'll see you all in the next one! Bye!
