It was dark and stormy at the Botties Pit. Hela Nemo was just closing the pit down for the night. She made sure that the light were turned off and that the security systems just before she entered her car heading for home.
Driving down the road, the rain pitter-pattered against the windows. Hela turned on the car wipers, but even with them on it was still difficult to see. A light fog was gently rolling along, blocking parts of the street.
"Storm's getting worse." She mumbled to herself.
A flash of lighting lit up the foggy road ahead. Hela slowed the car down a little so it wouldn't swerve on the wet streets. The wind howled, billowing the fog making it thicker than before.
She kept driving along when another flash of lighting illuminated an object in the middle of the road. Hela barely had time to swerve out of the way. The car curved, almost turning a 180 and jerked to a stop.
Hela moaned at the sudden jerking motion. Unbuckling her seatbelt Hela got out and quickly approached the object she had almost hit.
It was too dark to see, but with car headlights Hela could just make out the sliver color of a robotic arm, as well as a pair of robotic legs.
She gasped. Quickly she scooped up the object and placed it in the backseat of her car. The car backed up, made a U-turn, and headed back in the direction it came from.
Black.
That was all she could see.
Black everywhere she looked. Nothing but an eternal dark surrounding her.
And noise. Faint- almost non-existent; but still there. A grinding noise, followed by an explosion of some kind. Words. Harsh words were heard above the noise.
Worthless.
Piece of Junk.
Imperfect.
She felt anger. Rage. Disgust. But she mostly felt power. Lots of power.
Wait. What was that noise? It sounded like… like a girls voice…
"…found her on the street? She's not like any robot I've ever seen"
They must be referring to her. But how… why couldn't she see anything?
"I think I saw her move!" Another voice was saying, a boys this time. "She's coming online."
The eternal darkness around her slowly transformed into a colorful blur. She could make out the blurred images of a group of humans and robots surrounding her. Her hands felt against the surface she was on. It felt like some sort of table.
"Easy now," one of the blurs was saying, "you've been in an accident."
Accident. She remembered that word, but from where? Noises and thoughts flooded her mind as she clutched her head in pain.
Another blur spoke up, "We should scan her cereal number. Find out what kind of robot she is." The blur turned into a boy with blue and green shirt and white pants. A purple egg shaped robot was standing next to him.
She sat up on the table, which she now realized was a repair table. She quickly hopped off of it like it was made of fire. A chill ran through her system and more noises and images raced in her mind. She looked up at the blurs turned people. "I'm me. What kind of robot would I be?"
The people were surprised. A girl with orange pigtails asked her, "How do you feel?"
"I feel fine. Do you feel fine?" she asked back.
The pigtails girl was caught a little off guard by this. "Uhh… yes. I'm fine. Thank you?"
She started to walk outside. "Where are you going?" Another boy asked who was much larger than the first one. He wore a yellow and blue t-shirt and blue and white stripped shorts. Not stopping she said, "I'm just going."
An older woman in an aqua green jump suit quickly cut her off. "You don't have to go, we'll call your owner to come get you. What's your owner's phone number?"
She looked up at the woman. Something was familiar about her but she didn't know what. "My what?"
"An owner. You do belong to someone, right?"
"I belong to myself." She replied and stepped around the jumpsuit lady only to be cut off by her again. "This is getting on my nerves." She growled.
The lady looked at her with concern. "If you don't have an owner, where will you go?"
"Somewhere." Before she could walk around, the lady said, "You could stay here at the Bodies Pit. Just until I can run a diagnostic on you and check for any internal damage."
The other humans and robots stood behind her as she asked the lady, "Bodies Pit? Is that a graveyard to hide bodies in?"
The younger boy laughed, "No. The Bodies Pit is the best robot repair shop in all of Bubble town."
"Bubble town?" she asked.
"It's where we live." the pig tails girl explained, "I'm guessing you're not from around here, are you?"
She shrugged. "I don't know where I'm from."
"Don't know where you're from?" the large boy said, "Do you remember anything about yourself?"
Another shrug formed on her shoulders.
The humans looked to the jumpsuit lady. "Hela, she's got to stay here," pigtails pleaded, "no owner, no place to go, no memories at all. She needs our help!"
The jumpsuit lady thought about it. "Hmm… if you stay here, we might be able to help recover your memories. But we won't force you to stay if you don't want to. It's your choice."
She thought about it. She really wanted to say no and get the heck out of there as fast as she could. On the other hand, if she could figure out these voices and noises in her mind she might be able to remember her past, assuming she had a past. She might even be able to find out if she had or has an owner.
Looking up at the lady, she finally said, "A week. Then I'm out of here."
The lady smiled at her. "Great. Let's get you back inside and get to work."
She followed the lady and the other humans and bots back inside the pit. The pit was a fairly sized garage with numerous tools and gadgets on the shelves and on the walls. The place smelled like a garage.
She hopped back on the table as the lady picked up a mirror. She handed it to her. "Take a look at yourself. It might jog something in your memory bank."
She looked at the mirror starring into the reflection of a silver rounded face with purple metal pigtails that were in stands of three. She had two long bangs on both sides of her face. The top part of her head was covered by a blue visor. She shook her head. "I don't remember anything." She said giving the lady back the mirror.
"Why don't we tell her our names?" Pig tails suggested. "Maybe she might remember hers."
"Good idea. My name is Hela. I own and run the Bodies Pit. Those are my helpers, Diagnostix and Mr. Fixit." She pointed at the large yellow robot and a small red one.
The pigtails girl went next. "I'm Abby and this is my robot Don-don."
"Hi there, I'm Don-Don!" The little flying robot chirped happily.
"I'm Chip," the younger boy stated, "and this is my robot Cerebrix."
"I'm Mong," said the large boy. "This here is Maximx." He pointed to the large blue robot next to him.
"Now that you know our names, can you remember yours?" Hela asked her.
As hard as she tried, she couldn't remember… wait! Something was coming to mind. It was mixed around with a bunch of noise and sounds but she could just make out the word…
"Raine. My name is Raine."
A/N: Yes! First chapter is up! This show was a childhood favorite of mine and I'm very excited for this story.
Raine's voice sounds like Gaz from Invader Zim.
As always, please read and review my stories and have a good day!
