He lowers the blush brush with a smile. Then takes a second look in the mirror and adds an extra swipe to each cheek for good luck. Rising from the stool, he adjusts the glittering top, primping a bit, as he looks himself over.
Just then Stacey rushes by clipboard in hand, "Blaine, you ready?" She barely spares him a look, her eyes on her clipboard.
"Yep." With one last look he brushes a stray curl from his eyes and moves to follow her to the wings of the stage.
Kurt sighs as yet another young man approaches him. Sitting alone in a drag club with a voice like his tends to lead to a lot of unwanted attention. At least this one's half cute, though it wouldn't hurt if he invested in an iron.
"Come here often?" Another sigh escapes Kurt's lips before he can help it. "I know, I know, trite and overused I get it." The guy smiles as he holds his hands up in defense. "But why mess with a good thing right?" Kurt merely raises and eyebrow as he takes a sip of his drink, keeping most of his attention towards the stage. Unfortunately, Mr. "Come here often" isn't dissuaded. "Sorry, I'm just nervous, My name is Trent." He sticks out his hand and Kurt forces himself to pull his attention from the stage.
"I'm sorry, Trent did you say your name was? You're cute and all. Honestly, not many can pull off that shade of puce with your level of confidence; I'll give you that. But, you're barking up the wrong tree, here. You see I am most definitely-"
At that moment the lights around the room darken and Kurt breaks out into a devious smile turning from whats-his-name as a disembodied voice crackles from the speakers. "Good people I welcome to the stage, the act we've all been waiting for, Our Dear Lady Katherine!"
All attention turns to the stage as a single beam of light catches on the figure encased in an impossibly sparkling gown. The lights glint off the large glittering bow nestled in the long dark curls as Lady Katherine smiles at the crowd. Kurt's breath catches in his throat as his eyes soak it all in hungrily.
The music starts up and the energy in the crowd builds, all eyes glued to the stage. The figure begins to sing and has the crowd enthralled, working the room with ease. They laugh along as she sings "skin tight jeans" moving her hands along the dress in obvious mockery, and then they are aching as she begs them to "go all the way tonight." As the song reaches its zenith, the sparkling figure walks down stage and has eyes for only one man in the room.
Kurt's face feels like it will split he's smiling so hard, nearly forgetting the man next to him as Blaine blows him a kiss and a wink from the stage before bowing to the crowd's applause.
Kurt catches the kiss and smirks, his eyes trailing over his handy work as it hugs the man he loves. "As I was saying, dear, I'm most definitely and pleasantly taken."
