John POV
I tried in vain to wipe the sweat off my brow. I had been watching our new number for the last couple of days. It was an easy feat considering he almost
never left his house. So for the past couple of days I had been sitting on a neighboring building. Which wouldn't have been so bad if it wouldn't have been so hot. Over
the last week or so it had been slowly getting hotter and hotter, which wouldn't be a problem for anyone...Unless they were sitting on a roof for hours, I thought sullenly
as perspiration formed on my brow.
Dark stars danced behind my eyelids. That had been happening more and more often over the last couple of hours. I knew I should be worried about dehydration and
that I should probably get off the building I was currently sitting on. I made a move to stand but my head started to pound and I saw stars. My hands shook as I lifted
my hand to reach my ear piece to call Finch. I pressed the button as I slumped against the building.
He answered before the second ring. " Have you found something new about our number?." Finch asked not bothering for a greeting. I tried to find the strength to
answer but found I couldn't. The heat was too much. "John, are you there?" Finch asked when I didn't answer. I tried to clear my throat to answer but groaned when
it sent a scorching trail of fire down my dry throat.
"John"!?Finch asked with true panic in his voice. My vision went white and dark stars danced behind my eyelids. I closed my eyes and succumbed to the
darkness.
I woke to someone tapping my cheek. I tried to move to batt the hands away but was stopped when a blast of fiery hot pain coursed through my body. I moaned.
There was a buzzing in my ears that was currently muffling the sounds around me. Slowly the buzzing faded into an annoyingly familiar voice."-an you hear me?"
Lionel asked. I groaned in response."I'll take that as a yes." Fusco said sarcastically. I wished that he(and his annoyingly loud and booming voice)would just leave me
alone. "What happened?" I asked. Well tried to ask. All that came from my raw throat was a strange choking sound. I tried to to sit up but was stopped by a hot
flash of pain that made me lightheaded. As I sat there waiting for the lightheaded feeling to pass I slowly realized I was still on the roof across from our numbers
house. " Hey, Wonderboy ya still with me?" Lionel asked. I
gave a small nod in response." Good, Glasses called and told me to come out here and get ya."Fusco explained."What he failed to meantion was that you were passed out
on a freakin' roof top." I said nothing in response. 'Well it wasn't exactly my idea Lionel, I thought. My mind was foggy and my whole body was sore and spasming
from dehydration and this blasted heat. I felt sweat running down the side of my face and back. I could'nt take much more heat before I passed out again.
As it was I was conciouss by only the thinnest of threads."I'm gonna call Carter and see if she'll come down here and help me get you off this roof since you obviously
arn't goin' to be much help." Fusco said as he pulled out his phone. As he was on the phone with Carter I did my best to stay conciouss and eventually settled into a
semi conciouss state. I don't know how long it took for me to lose the fight for concioussness. All I knew was that I felt the darkness getting stronger and my will to
fight it getting weaker and weaker until eventually the blackness swallowed me whole.
