I don't own Angel, I don't own any characters, but that should be obvious, as if I did own Angel, I hardly think I would be submitting a fanfic.

I was listening to the director's commentary on "Not Fade Away" and when Angel visits Connor, there was a comment like "On his last day on earth, who would Angel go see, now that Cordelia's dead?" And I thought "Well, why should that stop him?" and then I sort of had this scene in my head and felt the urge to write it out. So, here's the scene that I wish had been in the Angel finale. Feel free to offer constructive criticism. Or flames, because those amuse me.

Shot of L.A. during the evening. Camera slowly swivels around, revealing location to be a small cemetery just outside of the city. Angel is squatting at one of the graves. There is a fresh bouquet of flowers at the foot of the grave. Angel is looking down at his hands.

Angel: I'd fill you in on what's going on, but I have a feeling that you already know. And I know how much you hate being bored. But, considering this might be my last day alive, where else would I have gone? I had to wait until the sun went down, and now I've got to be going pretty soon. But I had to spend a couple of minutes with you.

He absently reaches out to fix the flowers near the grave.

Angel: Sometimes, I wonder if you're watching us from…wherever you are. I know it has to be a heavenly dimension. You had such a big heart.

He folds his hands together again.

Angel: And I miss. A lot.

The camera pans from Angel's face to the grave he's at. It reads "Cordelia Chase . Daughter, Friend, Beloved."

Angel: I didn't realize how much it would hurt to lose you. But every time I think about it, every time your name is mentioned…it hurts like hell, Cordy. I meant what I told you that day. I need you. Here, with me. The one thing that's keeping me sane today is the thought that, even if everything goes to hell, I might find you. I wish almost every day that I had told you that before you left, so here goes. I loved you, Cordelia. I still do. You were my best friend, and I loved you. And I would give anything to be able to have you here with me right now.

He tilts his head up to the sky.

Angel: Are you up there? Can you even hear me?

The wind suddenly blows through strongly. Camera pans to some trees with their branches shaking slightly. We see Angel from behind, looking around.

Angel: Is this supposed to be a sign?

Female Voice: No, dummy.

We see a hand go onto Angel's shoulder.

Female Voice: This is a sign.

The camera pans a 180 around Angel. We see Cordelia standing behind him. She kneels down next to him. Angel's expression says it all, but he tries to use his mouth too.

Angel: Cordy, I-I…you're…

Cordelia: No more talking.

She takes his face in her hands and kisses him passionately. After a moment, she pulls away and rests her forehead against his.

Cordelia: And for the record, I love you too.

The scene ends with them holding each other.

All right, I know it's short, but it's one scene after all. The next scene, in my head, involves Angel bringing Cordy back to the offices. They walk in holding hands, and everyone's all shocked that Cordy's backand then Angel gets down to business and the episode pretty much continues as it was. Only with Cordy in the back alley with all of them, brandishing a sword. By the by, like I said earlier, feel free to flame, but please keep in mind that I did write this at about 2:30 a.m. so it's not necessarily my best work.
