She's beautiful. The moonlight making her appear as nothing more than a silhouette in the night. I could watch her stand there gazing at the stars for hours on end. I get up from the bed and walk to the sliding glass door that leads to the balcony. Stepping into the cold Seattle air I approach her and let my arms fall lightly around her waist. "as much as I love watching you being mesmerized by the night sky we have an early morning tomorrow." I whisper into her ear. She turns in my arms and kisses me on my forehead. " you're right to let's go to bed love" she says taking a step back allowing me to go inside first. I walk to the other side of the bed and climb in, in a matter of seconds I feel my girl slip in behind me and throw her arm over my stomach. With that, we both fall asleep fairly quickly.
The Next Morning.
We both wake up to a familiar pitter-patter of our toddler's feet. At only eighteen months old she has learned how to climb out of her crib. We wanted to wait until she was two to transition her into a toddler bed but she clearly had other plans. "Good morning my sweet," I say lifting Sofia and placing her in-between Callie and me. She snuggles down in the blankets and closes her eyes as if she is going to go back to sleep. "Oh no, ma'am you don't get to wake us up just to go back to sleep in our bed." Callie says to her mini-me with a laugh. "no no" Sofia says pulling the blanket up over her head. " She gets that from you, you know?" I tell my wife. " I don't think I could argue with that one even if I wanted to," she says with a grin. I get up from the bed with Sofia and head downstairs to start on breakfast. Today is a very big day for this little family. We are going to try to add another tiny human to the equation. We have talked about it for a while and have decided that I would carry this time. We are going in to see Addison for our first try at conception at 9:00 this morning and as time passes I'm starting to get a little nervous. I put Sofia into her highchair and dump a few Cheerios on her tray to distract her while I make Callie's favorite breakfast, homemade waffles.
We finish breakfast and head back upstairs to get dressed Callie takes Sofia to her nursery and dresses her in a purple sweater dress and tights. She then brings her into our room and puts cartoons on for her while we continue to get ready. "that was quick!" I say to her while finishing my make up. "Well that's because I know how to put a toddler in tights, unlike some people," she replies. I spin around and smack her playfully on the arm. Callie finishes getting ready and we head out to Seattle Grace Hospital.
Callies pov
Arizona and I walk out of our apartment building and towards the hospital. With Sofia on my hip, I kiss Arizona on the cheek and tell her that I will see her in Addison's office before heading in the direction of the hospital's daycare. We both have the day off but trying to inseminate with a toddler in the room could prove to be quite difficult so we will just get Sofia when we're done. Before I could even enter into the daycare Sofia is trying to wiggle out of my grasp to go play with her friends. I sign her in and head to Addison's office to find Arizona.
