AN: First and foremost, how many of you guys actually read my ANs? Lol But anyway I just wanted to say thank you guys for the reviews and I am glad you guys have enjoyed. As these are one shots..there are time skips. This is the last part and maybe an epilogue might be included. There will be NO Edward bashing..sorry guys. Unless you really want one ;)

Part 4: The End of the Line

Bella sat next to one of the newest members..Seth Clearwater. He was a young kid, 14, but bright and eager to help. Bella felt guilty enough as it was. She watched her old family go against her new one and was awed by the grace each side held. Bella has been currently working with Alice in different decisions in order to change the outcome of Bella's death. She finally told Bella the way she dies. Bella has sworn to herself that she wouldn't tell Paul. He was already on edge as it was, thus making the whole pack on edge as well.

Last night Bella decided that she wanted to have as many human experiences as possible in case she didn't make it. It was the first time she had sex, and she loved every minute of it. Paul, despite his libido, wanted her to wait, saying that she wouldn't die and that she'd live to see another day. Bella was stubborn of course and Paul made it just as romantic as he could. Bella expected nothing better.

Unbeknownst to Bella, Paul's animal side found it very hard to not mark her during their times of passion, but held back due to Bella's stern hesitance and reluctance. She didn't want him to mate with her because If she died, he'd be forever tied to her. He at least stood a chance at love if he ever imprinted, although Paul disagreed. He knew there would never be anyone for him except Bella.

Bella squeezed Seth's fur as one of the wolves were thrown a few feet away. Emmett started for who looked to be Jared, and Bella let out a breath. Two things happened. One, Alice let out a mix between a gasp and a cry of satisfaction. Two: Emmett was soaring through the air. Backwards. A semi clear energy field surrounded the wolf. The air was still as both sides took in each other. The wolves didn't have the gift and The Cullens didn't posses such power. Seth's wine as the tightness of his fur drew all attention to him. Bella had his fur wrapped in her hand tightly.

Paul leaving Sam's side, made his way over nuzzling Bella's head. "I'm fine. Alice? That's it isn't it?" Eyes turned toward Alice who had a bright smile on her face. "I don't know the outcome but it's changed. I see nothing. Better than seeing..you."

Bella nodded and suddenly like a rubberband, the energy field bounced back into her mind and Bella shook her head softly as she got her bearings. Paul whined softly as Bella stroked his fur. She could tell my the look in his lupine eyes that he was excited and worried. "Bella, I want you try again. But this time with us. You shielded Jared from Emmett's attack. I want you to shield Edward from mine." Jasper stated. Edward and Jasper stood face to face crouching. Instead of focusing on the people she focused on the mental feeling of the rubberband. It was hard to see, but Bella made out the white blurs and she closed her eyes pushing the mental band out of her mind, flexing it. She watched it reach the two vampires but instead of blocking one, it surrounded them. Jasper hummed slightly touching it. It seemed to zap his finger. "It's more of a defense mechanism. We are the same species, we are no real threat to each other as the wolf and vampire are. Bella...I'm asking your permission to attack you..quote on quote." Paul's lip curled as he slightly growled. He shook his large head furiously. She looked to Sam who had a similar expression on his face. She clasped Paul's fur and whispered, "He's not going to touch me. I'll be fine. Please. We need to work on this, for us." Edward looked away as if that could somehow block the one sided conversation.

Bella nodded at Jasper and stood. Paul stood next to her tense in his animal form. "Okay." She understood why he would be the one to come at her. He almost killed her after all. Jasper was slower in his movements giving Bella a chance to see him clearly. Before he could get within 6 feet of her, he was zapped back with a force that hurt. He slid to the ground hard, uprooting dirt. "Nice." Emmett muttered. Jasper stood smirking. "Huh...only a human can throw me on my ass." Bella snorted and looked to Alice. "Will this work?" Alice's eyes glazed over and she nodded. "I just know I don't see you, which is a good thing." Bella nodded, the two having an agreement. As much as Alice wanted a relationship again with Bella, Bella kept her distance. Her loyalty was to her pack. To Paul. She was a wolf girl now as Emily liked to call her.

*2 Weeks Later*

Since training, the wolves have learned the do's and don't of fighting vampires and Bella has pretty much crafted her shield. She still didn't understand why now would she have this gift and not a year ago. Her family mused that in the face of "real" danger, her body has to protect itself. The Cullens knew she was gifted and chalked it up to some humans being more aware of what they could do. Bella thought differently. This wasn't about her, it was about her family and keeping them safe. She knew hear death would devastate them all, so she had to keep living..for them and for Charlie. She does it for him. She's happy, and to know that he wouldn't have wanted anything else for her is a blessing.

Today they scouted. Learning the area. Bella and Paul would go to the top of the mountain along with Seth to keep him from the fight. It would separate Victoria and that's what they wanted. Unbeknownst to Victoria was Bella's back up plan. She wanted to be seen surrounded by no one, only to have her wolves and Edward corner her. She didn't tell Paul, but she hoped to do something different with this shield of hers.

As the next morning rolled around, Bella found herself shivering slightly until the black and brown wolf wrapped itself around her. She sat by the fire warming her hands. In just a few hours, Victoria and her army were bringing war and Bella hoped to blow it all up in her face.

"I will signal you Bella when I see her. You'll know. Are you sure you want to do this? We can hide you or something." The bronze haired vampire offered. While he still loved the brown eyed girl..no woman..he realized she wasn't meant for him and his family. He tried, he really did, just to get her to see that they could be something wonderful, but looking at the way Paul held her, spoke to her, how her eyes lit up with joy and a large smile graced her face..and when she laughed...it was pure. He couldn't take that away. He had his chance and he blew it. He knew that Paul was the one for Bella. He could see it in the way they moved, while they weren't mates, Edward could definitely see it was fate that brought them together. He wouldn't ruin that.

Bella shook her head to his question. "No. I need to do this." She looked at him, giving him a small smile. She would never forgive him but she knew better than to hold a grudge. She was happy now and if it weren't for his stupid actions, who knows where she would be right now. Edward have a curt nod and disappeared. Seth and Paul did the same, but not before nuzzling her hair. Bella stood ready. With the mountain angled the way it was, they hoped for some wind to make the smell faint. God was on their side as Bella felt the brisk wind in her cheeks.

A loud twig snapping and Bella tense and ready. That was her signal. Before Bella could countdown to ten, there stood her nightmare. The woman who made her life miserable. Her fiery red hair blew around her, her white teeth sparkled. A menacing smile graced Victoria's lips. "Bella...hm..sweet, naive..stupid..Bella." Bella raises a brown in annoyance. Victoria pokes around. "Their not stupid enough to leave you here unprotected." Bella gave a laugh. She flexed her shield out, shielding her wolves and Edward. She realized that if she concentrated hard enough, her shield can block sounds. She watched as Seth and Paul rose from behind and Edward at the top of a tree. "You're right, which is why their right behind you." Victoria swiveled around snarling. She didn't hear them and she didn't like that. Edward dropped down in her other side, her back turned to him. "Me too." He stated smirking. Victoria turned again in confusion. Why didn't she sense him up there? "What is this?" Bella smiled, taking a stand next to Edward. "Me." She stated. Bella relaxes her shield, wrapping it around Victoria instead. She closed her eyes and concentrated on lifting her in the air, and slamming her back down again. She took away the shield as Victoria was stunned. She stood quickly growling. She bypassed Edward, tossing Seth in his direction. She didn't pay attention that she was one wolf short. She mad a beeline towards Bella, but a barrier zapped her back on her ass. Bella then shielded Paul while still managing up the barrier. Victoria snarled with anger and confusion. "What is this?! Why! Can't! I! Touch you?!" Victoria stood, running to the barrier once more and at last minute she gasped, looking to her right, as big jaws aimed for her head. Just like that, he head was swiped clean and on the ground at Bella's feet. Bella picked up the head and smiled and laughed. "'Cause you're dead." Lighting a fire, Bella tosses her head in watching it burn as Edward tossed her body parts in.

Paul nuzzling Bella's head, has her smiling. "It's over." She whispered. She clung to her wolf as purple smoke filled the air and her nose. She was going to be okay, as long as she had Paul.
