"You can't remember can you?" The person's face was obscured by a hood. Shadows were cast along the ridges of his nose, mouth, jaw line. At least Naruto thought he was a man.
Silence.
"Hell, you probably can't remember anything after October 10, 137 AGW, can you?" The voice was in the 'tween, something feminine, yet very strong, as if a man took on a female's personality. Naruto couldn't be sure.
Something clicked.
"October 10."
"Your birthday," the voice said, almost as if amused.
His head hurt like hell. "I can't even remember—"
An image flashed in his mind, bubblegum pink hair, emerald eyes, crimson lips, and ivory skin. A giggle, a smile. Both warmed his heart.
"Sakura."
The person across the table laughed, "Looks like you're starting to remember, that's good."
"What happened?"
"All in good time." Stop mocking me.
"Please tell me."
"Naruto, that's why I'm here. So, why don't we start from the beginning. Naruto can you tell me where we are?"
He looked around. White walls, one window –which actually was a one way mirror—, metal table and chairs, and a large floodlight that hung from the ceiling. The question was easy, classic style interrogation room. But, he recognized the exact place because of the serial number that was imprinted on the rim of the lamp. CR46.
"We're in the central interrogation room, number forty-six."
"Good. Who is the Hokage?"
"Tsunade."
"No, I'm afraid you're wrong."
"What? What year is it?"
"Naruto, your mind is set on 137 AGW, the last year of the Fifth Hokage's reign. It is now 157 AGW, under the reign of the Seventh Hokage."
"What? Tell me what happened?"
"Naruto you've been asleep. You've been asleep for twenty years."
"Will you help me remember?" Will you? He doubted it.
"Again, Naruto, that's what I'm here for," the figure took off the hood that clouded its features. Naruto now understood and relaxed. "Now close your eyes, and we'll begin."
Naruto smiled ironically, "You look familiar."
The person laughed again, "I always do."
Naruto closed his eyes as he felt unconsciousness engulf him.
