TITLE: Losing Grip
AUTHOR'S NOTES: Well, I hope you guys like this story! I think the plot is really good, but not if I'm the one writing it.
So, I have a proposition for you guys. I ask that someone rewrite this to make it better, IF they ask me first and show it to me when they are done. If they do that, they can post it on THEIR OWN account, as long as in the Disclaimer they put that the main story line was by AnimeFann88.
Sorry for asking all this and making it so specific or greedy, this is just an idea that I've been developing for over a year now. Therefore, I REALLY want at least some credit. Please and thanks!
DISCLAIMER: I do not own Full Moon wo Sagashite, or anything in it.
Chapter 1 – Prologue
October 26th, 2010 – 11:34 p.m.
Sometimes, things don't happen the way you think. I've always believed in the magic of life, but not to this extreme. Today, at exactly 9:17 p.m., at a strangely unexpected full moon, someone came for a visit. Not just any someone, and not just any visit. It was Austin. The Austin that I lost in a car crash when I was seven. The Austin that is three years older than me. Now, I'm not usually one to keep a "diary," but for this, I felt I must.
So, when I saw him and he said hi, I cried. Cried more than I'd ever cried before, except maybe when I was a baby. This is about how our little meeting went in the form of how it would look in a book: (inner writer coming through…)
I was sitting on my floor, studying for my pesky math test the next day. Slope. Can you believe it? It was so easy! At least for me, anyway… Other people in my 7th grade Pre-algebra class say, "No, it's too hard!" I am twelve, and I understand it completely! Others are also twelve, but some are thirteen.
Suddenly, something dark and shadow-like appears in the corner of my room. Being the curious child that I am, I go over to investigate. But then, it becomes a person. This person – a teenage boy about 15 years old – stands up and says the simplest thing in the world. "Hi."
What do I do? I cry. Like. A. Baby. There's a reason, though. This boy is not just any boy. This boy is Austin, whom I had lost in an accident when he was 10.
I sob, "No… This c-can't be… Yo-ou're… Dead!"
He comes over and pats my back, cooing, "Shh… I know. That's one of the things I need to explain."
My voice was hoarse from the crying. "One of?"
"Yes." He directs me over to my bed, where he and I sit down next to each other. "Remember how I died? Well, I really did die. Right now, I'm not a human. I'm a spirit."
"But… Then how-"
"Please, Rebecca. I'm begging you not to interrupt me. This is hard enough as it is."
I quickly quiet down and await his continuation.
"Well… I honestly don't know how to explain this well…" He mumbled to himself. "Okay, let me just get on with it already…"
He took a deep breath and stated, "You are going to die in a year."
"…what?"
