Summery: A short story set directly a year after the events in Dark Angel.
A story about Gillian saying a final goodbye and thank you to someone that
changed her life forever. Both a Sad and Happy story.
I'll Never Forget
As I kneel on the soft snow covered grass I can feel its dampness soaking through my jeans, but I don't care.
I cannot take my eyes of the grave before me. The grey stone still new and the writing still clearly engraved. There is one small crack in the dark marble that shows the effect that the cruel winter has on the gravestone.
I silently lay the fresh flowers at the base of the stone. The bright colour of the petals stand out brightly against the fresh crisp white snow. All around me soft snow flakes fall from the sky and caress my skin.
I trace my fingers lightly over the engraved letters and cant help but remember.
It was exactly one year ago today that it happened
It is the one day that I'll never forget.
The one day that changed my life forever.
I can't help but feel a twinge in my heart as I become lost in memories.
It was the day I met them both. My sweet David and my Guardian Angel.
A strand of blonde hair falls in front of my eye and I tuck it behind my right ear with shaking fingertips.
A slow tear springs from my eye as I kiss the smooth marble before me.
"I'll never forget, if it weren't for you I would never have felt love." I whisper as I stand. "Good bye my Angel and thank you"
I don't bother to dust the snow crystals of my blue jeans as I walk away, I was just glad that I came to say a final good bye.
As I walk between the rows of head stones towards the large iron gate, I cant help but smile as angelic laughter surrounds me.
