Window of Opportunity: Opened
The Last Window
What if the last window wasn't? What if the real last window was the one before? Read on to find out more.
Disclaimer: I don't own Stargate SG1 or the characters!!! The idea, however is, as always my own, my PRECIOUS!
(At the second to last window, we see Jack in civvie clothes, handing in his resignation. Then, FINALLY kissing Sam. What if he hadn't done this directly before the next window? Next paragraph is mine)
"Colonel O'Neill! What the HELL do you think you're doing?" General Hammond yelled at Jack.
Jack pulled away from Samantha Carter. "Well sir, handing in my resignation, tends to prevent regulations from stopping me sir. And if I'm correct I really don't think Major Carter minds. Well Sam?"
"Nuhu." Carter had been slightly dazed by the experience. Colonel O'Neill had explained about the window, and as far as she could see, it was all possible. But even so, he had handed in his resignation for her! She was amazed that she mattered that much to him.
"Colonel, do you not think that you should be figuring out this problem?" Hammond had no idea how to respond to O'Neill's retort.
"Oh, well Teal'c and I already figured that out. I just thought one last free loop would be good for us all."
"How do we stop the loops?" Hammond demanded.
"If I take SG1 back to the planet, we can stop the machine and prevent any more loops sir!"
"Do it. Get geared up. By my watch you still have three hours of this loop. GO NOW!"
(Same as when SG1 fix the machine for this scene. Next paragraph mine)
(In Hammond's office) "Colonel, I hope you really don't intend upon leaving." Said General Hammond, holding up two pieces of paper. One was O'Neill's letter of resignation, the other an official letter from the President.
"Do you know what this letter is?"
"No sir. But that one's my letter of resignation.
"This, Colonel, is a letter from the President, noting how angry he will be if you or Major Carter leave the SGC! He says that he understands why you are leaving, but he has given you your own personal loophole. So long as your work is not affected, you are permitted to carry on seeing each other on the grounds that neither of you leave. Is that clear Colonel?" He asked.
"Yes sir!!!" Colonel O'Neill grinned.
"Major?"
"YES SIR!"
