When she kissed her husband, she never thought it would be the end of their lives.
Who would think such a thing. No one ever knows exactly when they are going to die. And she just loved him so much. How could she resist her husband. He was tall and strong. His auburn hair had been hanging down by his tanned cheeks, and Elaine couldn't keep away. It was their anniversary. They were in love. She felt the same way that she did when she first met him. Drunk on love. She could have been flying through the air she was so happy. She knew he had been driving, but it had been so long since he had kissed her, and they had just left the house. They were heading to a relatively nice restaurant, and she was excited. They were amazingly in love, and the moment was right. It wasn't even voluntary. She was drawn to him like a magnet. The way that he breathed and looked and laughed and spoke. He was an amazing man. He was the father of her children. Three of them. Three boys. She couldn't even remember life without them. Darry. Gosh he was growing. So smart. So intelligent. So strong. So much like his he wasn't only smart. He was a great football player. An amazing team player. And he was so close to his father. It was uncanny to see it. And Sodapop. There was another thing that she loved about her husband. He had the most original ideas for names. And gosh was Sodapop amazing. Elaine knew that Sodapop was a gorgeous boy. Many people said so. He was just like her in the way he was and lived. He was constantly happy. He could make his way all over the world on one bit of happiness. He could make anyone feel happy. Whenever she was a little upset, Sodapop could make her feel better. And God he gave the absolutely best back rubs. I mean, the BEST back rubs, and he would always knock her right out. And Ponyboy. He was so smart. So kind. So young. He had always had this vibe to him that made her smile. He was a happy person. He was a lot like his father. And he was amazingly kind. So he was just a good person. You could feel it. And he had helped give her them. He made her have so much happiness in her life. He made her life so much better. How could she not be in love with him. So she did it. She kissed him.
When she saw the headlights of the car in front of her she knew what was coming. She knew her mistake. "DARREL!" She reached out for the wheel, but she knew it was too late. He knew it was too late. She could tell by the smile he had on his face. "Hey hun. Calm down. Look at me." His voice was so soft she had to look over. And he gave her one more kiss. One last goodbye. "I lo-" The force slammed into her and she heard a crack. She screamed. It wasn't her own noise. At least, it wasn't then.
But the next time it was. She saw a flash of light. And then nothing
