So my power went out for three hours and I was stuck typing on my laptop with no internet, so this drabble came to mind. Hope you like it.
Disclaimer: Nanoha is not mine.
It's the Rainy Season
Nanoha sighed against her cold window, her breath creating a fog. The power was out, her room was dark and she had just missed out on knowing who Shamal's crush was, her computer having gone out and leaving her with her dead phone.
"Ah man..." she groaned, the sound of rain usually soothing, but now irritating to listen to. It had been going on for nearly three hours, and all she had accomplished was groaning and wishing for the lights to magically come on.
Her family resided in the living room to watch a movie on her brother's laptop, but Nanoha had refused, not in the mood for a comedy. It was almost like their laughter was mocking her in some way, bu she had another reason to sit at her window, simply staring out into nothing.
Fate.
The moment she saw the long head of blonde hair hidden underneath a black umbrella, Nanoha nearly ran for it, tripping on the stairs but saving herself at the last moment, avoiding a broken ankle. Her parents looked at her and shook their head once she opened the door, the sound of wind and rain making her shiver. "Fate-chan!" she greeted, jumping on the dry blonde, whose arms wrapped around her waist just as tightly as hers around her neck. They spun in a circle and she stopped once she noticed people were watching them.
"Nanoha," Fate smiled, lightly pecking her forehead with no blush whatsoever. Nanoha grinned and took her hand, pulling her out of the cold and into the warm house that smelt just like the bakery they owned. "Ah, good evening," she called to the eavesdroppers in the living room, the light illuminating their faces just right.
Shiro and Momoko waved, whereas Kyouya and Miyuki blushed in embarrassment, knowing they were caught without Fate even trying. "Hehe... sorry..." they mumbled in unison, rubbing their necks.
Nanoha puffed out her cheeks and shook her head, pulling Fate upstairs to her room, although it was hard as the sudden change in light compared to outside blinded her for a second. "I really hate this rain," she pouted, jumping onto her warm bed with a sigh of relief.
"I thought you liked rain?" Fate asked, accompanying her with a light huff, pulling Nanoha closer to her. She felt Nanoha nod against her chest and laughed, auburn hair tickling her neck.
The brunette sighed, slipping her arms underneath Fate's to hug her, "Yeah, but not when everything is so boring..."
Fate nuzzled her neck and lightly kissed it, the cool feeling relaxing her a bit. "Well I'm here, aren't I?" she asked quietly, running her hands down Nanoha's waist. Once again Nanoha nodded, and they simply laid in her bed in a comfortable silence.
"Nanoha?"
"Mm... yeah?" the brunette could feel her eyes beginning to shut, the warmth from Fate surrounding her and relaxing her body.
Fate simply brushed her lips against her temple and ran her hand through her hair, hugging her tightly. "It's the rainy season, you know."
Nanoha laughed a little and kissed her cheek, "Yeah, I know."
The sound of thunder and rain was blocked out by the sound of their breathing, effectively lulling them both to sleep.
AN
I really like the romantic and fluffy/carefree aspect of NanoFate, despite how many drama stories are out there, so I'm planning on writing more of these in a collection story soon!
Hope you liked it!
