The day was cold and dark, maybe a bit wet and snow crunched under the boots of one particular boy. Mukahi Gakuto was on a mission that seemed to be taking him nowhere thus far. Yuushi was surprisingly hard to shop for, he thought as he turned a corner and gaze flicked over gaudily decorated shops filled with flickering lights and rather noisy people.

His family didn't celebrate Christmas, really, but sometimes it didn't hurt to grace someone with a gift or five if only to show you care or out of appreciation for things they have done for you (even if said person still owed you borrowed lunch money).

After a few hours browsing stores and looking over far too many uninteresting looking books Gakuto was beginning to give up and just go home; he'd give Yuushi a gift card or something.

It was several days later when he showed up on Yuushi's doorstep, snazzy coat wrapped tightly around his body and scarf covering most of his face. Impatient seemed to be the word of the hour as he knocked again. "Hurry the hell up already."

Yuushi seemed surprised (and suspiciously red-eyed) when he answered the door. It wasn't often Gakuto took it upon his bratty self to come out of his little hole and actually come to visit. "Hi." he simply stood there for a moment, watching his very penguin-like doubles partner.

"You just gonna stand there or are you gonna let me in? It's freezing out here, Yuushi!" Came a very muffled and possibly whiny reply.

"Ah, come in, come in." There was a shuffling of doors, feet and the dumping of wet shoes to follow. Gakuto eventually began unwrapping himself of his layers; coat, scarf and even his cute hat dumped into his friend's arms unceremoniously. Yuushi rolled his eyes, stepping to the side and hanging everything up on several pegs by the door. "Did you have a reason for banging on my door, or did you just want to steal my heat?"

"Got somethin' for you." Gakuto replied a little too perkily as he dug through a cute messenger bag, extracting a somewhat shoddily wrapped gift to present to his friend. "Here."

"What's this?"

"Just open it."

Yuushi made a slight face but proceeded to tear through brightly coloured paper. He almost had to laugh when a copy of 'Titanic' was revealed. "Thank you. It's... nice."

"Yeah, well, you suck to shop for." Gakuto's nose wrinkled slightly. Really, he'd tried to find something decent.

Yuushi smirked at that, crumpling the paper up in one hand and looking around a bit. And without warning his head ducked, catching unsuspecting lips with his own.

"Gack!" The smaller boy sputtered slightly, completely caught offguard and stumbling back; maybe even a little red in the face. "The hell was that for?"

The smirk remained steadfast when Yuushi reached above his own head, plucking a small berry off a festively ribboned plant and smooshed it into the other teen's palm. "Mistletoe."
