It was summer and Rory Gilmore was being dragged to another tag sale and flea market marathon by her mother and sister. She didn't mind shopping she loved it in fact with a passion but the unholy glee that bordered on shear evil mixed with insanity that came with her mother shopped she didn't inherit and her sister's obsession with tag-sales, flea-markets and consignment shops was almost as bad. She called it Tag-sailing and considered herself a predator, the things she acquired her prize, the vendors and shop-keepers her prey, and other shoppers her competition. They had strayed a great deal from Stars Hollow in their little adventure today had just cross into New York State, from Danbury. It seemed to be even more isolated than Stars Hollow but couldn't decide whether it wanted to be urban, Suburban or rural. Most of the town was suburban looking, or looked a lot like Stars Hollow, but the village they passed through looked like a ghetto.
Bay was snapping pictures with her camera. Rory looked at her "What are you doing?"
"I'm going to use these to give Taylor a heart attack. If Taylor thought for one second people thought Stars Hollow looked like this he's die on the spot and someone cool would be town selectman. It's just a prankā¦.no one else will see them."
Rory's mother laughed, adding "Good for you kid."
They got to their third tag sale. Rory had found some great books, Lorelai a lemon lamp and a dancing rabbi. Bay on the other hand.
"Mom! Look what I found!" She carried a naked fashion mannequin like the ones found in department stores. "Can I keep Sandy please?"
Sandy?" Rory asks.
"She looks like Olivia Newton-john."
"Sure kid, let's take Sandy home and get her some nice clothes." When they got home Sandy was added to Bay's bedroom, in an outfit of Lorelai's, at the next town meeting Taylor railed for 10 minutes about catching the troublemakers who pranked him. Rory got 10 new books for her every growing collection. All in all a successful outing.
