Feels Like Love
It was the first day of school at Hogwarts, and Professor Dumbledore stood up to make an announcement. "This year, a talent show will be held on January 30, 2001. There will be rooms to practice in, and if you would like to enter, please contact your Head of House.
"If you would like to be a judge, contact me. That is all."
"Hey, Hermione, why don't you enter?" asked the
whole Weasley clan and Harry at once. "N-n-no. I don't have any real talents." said Hermione
sadly. "Yes, you do!! I heard you singing the library before! You would be awesome!" Ginny told
her. "Yeah, Hermione, go
ahead!" the rest of table goaded her. "Fine. But I'm not going to
tell you what I am singing" said Hermione matter-of-factly.
The day of the talent show finally came. Draco Malfoy sang a song called "Feels
Like Love" by Alan Jackson. Hermione noticed that he particularly seemed to be looking her way, and
she smiled shyly. (A/N: Hermione and
Draco are going out) Then Harry came
out and recited a bit of poetry. Fred
and George showed some of their latest inventions, and got very loud
cheers. Finally, Prof. McGonagall came
out and said,"Now Ms Hermione Granger will be singing a song called
"Without You". Here she is."
Hermione came out and began to sing in a clear, beautiful
voice:

She finished her song, and there was thunderstruck applause. The teachers, even Snape, were looking teary eyed. Ginny was crying on Ron's shoulder, and Cho was crying on Harry's. Hermione herself looked like she was going to cry, and she walked off the stage into Draco's waiting arms. She sobbed unrestrainedly into his shoulder, thinking about the bad times they had been through. The judges consulted for a moment, and then Professor Dumbledore walked up to the stage. "The winner, by unanimous vote, is Ms Hermione Granger!"
"Draco! I can't believe it!" Hermione told her boyfriend. She walked up to the stage and accepted the golden and sapphire tiara and bouquet of roses. "I'd like to thank Draco for always being there for me. I'd like to thank Harry and Ron for being the best friends a person could ever have, and I'd like to thank all of my friends who have been there every step of the way. Thank you all!"
At this, the whole hall burst into tears. Hermione
had just, without knowing it, broken any rivalries that there used to be,
broken the rivalry between Slytherin and Gryffindor, and had created an
everlasting peace in the world.
