Author's Note: Thanks once again to Captain Crunk for helping edit this one!
Her name was Mysteria. It suited her. She was mysterious, with big blonde hair and knowing eyes. She came with her friend. Walt must have bumped into them while he was out doing business. She said she was a nurse. Or at least I think she said that. She was kind of dressed like one, anyway. A real sexy nurse.
I knew I had to turn up the charm if I wanted to get her attention. Nick wasn't making it easy on us, but I, at least, intended to get a little more intimate with this lovely woman before the night was out.
We flirted, danced, and ended up in bed together. It was quick, but beautiful. I'd like to think I'd made an impression. Afterwards, I made her laugh. And although we would probably never meet again, I hoped she wouldn't forget me. I knew I would never forget her and our perfect night together.
When I was seventeen I wanted to send that story in to an adult magazine. Never got around to it, though. Mostly 'cause my Mom confiscated my stash before I could look up the address. But the story was true, and I had a beautiful memory to look back on (even if it wasn't published anywhere).
And then they told me she was a hooker.
Why, Nick? Why'd you have to wait years to tell me? If you'd just said something, oh, before I slept with her that might have been helpful! Or even right afterwards; I could have had time to come to terms with it. But you have to tell me now, and like that? I get it. Walt asked you not to. But it hurt.
It was like ripping off a band-aid, you said. Yeah, sure it was. On my penis.
I don't like ripping off band-aids. You of all people should know that, Nick. 'Cause band-aids are like relationships. I'll keep them on as long as I have to because taking them off is going to suck. Even if they aren't helping anymore and there's no reason for them to be there. That's when you ease them off. Preferably after soaking them first.
Damn, I wish we had a bathtub.
I haven't felt this bad since I found out Leonardo DiCaprio drowned.
