Kaito bit his lips and hugged the couch for dear life for looming in front of him is a very cruel tyrant. He closed his eyes and waited for doom…

"KAITO! You WILL JOIN the fieldtrip to the marine aquarium. What part of that sentence is not understandable?" His mother said, hands in her hips.

"Everything! How could you let me come to a place that is full of evil f-fishes!" he whined, making a face.

His mother sighed. "Is this about your dad's pet fish and your pet worm again?"

"Of course! I have yet to avenge poor Mr. Squishy after that demonic and ugly thing of a fish ate him! Good thing it died after a few days…" Kaito exclaimed; eyes shining with seem to be tears. He had remembered that very well. Those bulging red eyes, that gaping black hole of a mouth with very sharp teeth that swallowed Mr. Squishy whole and that scaly body with torn fin covered in moss… He shuddered.

"Kaito… I'll ground you if you don't come. You'll stay in your room for a week." She said threateningly.

"Even being grounded for a month with no food is better than coming to that hell hole." Kaito said desperately. He had decided to use his secret weapon: Puppy eyes. He put on a pitiful face, kneeling in front of his mother. "Mom, have mercy!"

"Not working on me! Hadn't for 5 years. Then I have no choice…" She fished for her cell phone in her pocket and dialed Aoko's number. "Aoko-chan? Can you come here right now? Kaito's very stubborn today; he refuses to come. Yes, you may borrow my broom. Thank you! Bye." She shut her phone.

She turned to Kaito who was looking at her with a horrified expression. "Mom, you wouldn't…" She smiled sweetly and Kaitou could see glee in her eyes. "Yes I would, dear Kaito…"

A few moments later, the doorbell rang and even with Kaito's Kaitou Kid skills, he wasn't able to avoid Aoko's beating with the broom that popped out of nowhere. Kaito's mom handed Aoko his lunch, waved goodbye and watched as Aoko dragged the unconscious boy away.

Surmised to say, Kaito's mom had a peaceful day and Kaito came back home intact with a haunted look in his face. Let's just say that Kaito slept in his mother's room for a week because of fishy nightmares and avenged himself by keeping his mother awake…

The End.
