Silent Witness

A witness born of human hands,
Out of cotton and threads in strands,
With watchful eyes and an unfaltering smile,
It waits in silence for more stories to file.

Many a tale of love it has seen,
Details so accurate, almost with senses so keen.
And a tragedy echoes amidst the stillness,
The requiem of two lovers, a sonata of madness.

He was a warrior, a soldier-in-training,
To her he looked up to, admiration unwavering.
While she was the damsel who watched from afar,
Her heart bound to a man who shone like a star.

But all stars die, and in time the man did, too,
Leaving her under a curtain of blue.
Her soul he attempted to flee, oh, but alas,
He feared he, too, might break her heart of glass.

And so he departed, a mask he put on,
Victory for her, that he thought he had won.
Yet at his final glance, he saw her fall apart,
"I wanted you here," she said, pointing to her heart.

But it had been done, too late to turn back,
Torn were the souls, irreparable was the crack.
And from the cupboard it hears all her anguished cries,
The lovers' silent witness, looking on at her demise.

Author's Note: Well, I hope that made sense; I just happened to make that for a Computer application activity while being bored beyond belief in an AM station. Anyway, that goes out to all Takeshi x Lilika fans out there… I hope you liked it. Please review! ^^
