Star and Marco rode up to the surface. They didn't speak to each other the whole way. As they walked out of the elevator Star thanked the creature that had brought them up. They monster flew back down into the flamed as Star angrily walked out onto the balcony.

"Ugh!" Star growled at no one in particular, "So INFURIATING!"

Marco looked smug as he walked towards Star, "I hate to say it, but I warned you about Tom."

"No!" Star turned to glare at him, "You! You're infuriating!" Star flung her shoes at Marco and they went flying over the balcony.

Marco looked up with a hurt look in his eyes, "Me? I was just trying to help-"

Star interupted Marco's protest, "You don't trust meto do things myself. I'm 14. I can handle a demon." Star sighed and leaned against the balcony railing, "I know you're just trying to look out for me, but you have to let me figures things out on my own. I don'nt need a hero, I need a friend."

Marco took off his mask and leaned on the balcony with Star. For a while Marco was quiet thinking carefully about what he should say next. Then he spoke, "I wasn't trying to be a hero, Star."

Star looked at him in disbelief, "Really Marco? Then what were you trying to be?"

Marco looked up at Star sincerely, "I wasn't trying to be anything"

"Then what-" Star began to question him but Marco stopped her.

"I... I was jelous," Marco finally admitted. Star opened her mouth to speak but Marco wasn't finished, "A little voice in my head reminded me that the blood moon was the moon of lovers," he paused and blushed, "I didn't want you to be with Tom... I wanted you to be with me."

Star's jaw dropped as her brain processed the words that had come out of Marco's mouth. "That mean what I think it meant?"

Marco blushed but nodded, "I'm sorry I ruined your night."

Star smiled slyly at him, "Well it wasn't a total disaster." She grabbed Marco's sombrero and put on her own head, "Now I know you can dance." Then she moved forward and kissed him. It was quick but full of love and Marco felt the heat rush to his face and he began to stutter.

"Star I-" Marco began.

Star wouldn't hear any of it thoguh, "Now go make me some nachos!"

Marco smiled, "Okay."
