Another request from tate310, this time it's "The World's Strongest Engine" from Season 6. Enjoy and comment.

All the engines on the Island of Sodor are very reliable and useful. They work hard to complete their jobs on time. They don't like confusion and delay.

But the troublesome trucks love mischief, and their mischief always cause trouble, as poor Henry found out.

Sir Topham Hatt spoke to the other engines about Henry.

"Henry had a nasty accident earlier today with the troublesome trucks. I've sent him to be repaired. As there are no other engines to help, Diesel will be filling in until Henry returns."

"Yes sir!" puffed the engines. But they felt cross. They hated Diesel. He was always being super rude to everyone.

"I hope Henry's mended soon!" said Percy.

"He moves more trucks than three diesels put together!" agreed Thomas crossly.

Gordon was angry.

"Trucks are nobody's friends!" he grumbled. "They're too troublesome!"

"That's why they're called troublesome trucks Gordon!" reminded James.

Gordon said nothing. He had made his point quite clear, but secretly, he wasn't too sure.

The next day, Diesel was working at the docks.

"When Sir Topham Hatt sees how good I am, he'll get rid of steam engines once and for all!" he bragged to the trucks.

This gave the troublesome trucks an idea. As Diesel shunted them together, they started to sing.

"Is that all you can haul? Henry's loads are longer! Is that all you can haul? Henry must be stronger!"

Diesel was cross. He was definitely stronger than Henry.

"I'll push you all at the same time!" he said.

The trucks giggled and began to sing again.

"Push us all, that's the law! Push us all, you'll be so strong!"

"That's me!" said Diesel, "the world's strongest engine!"

Diesel shunted five trucks together, then ten, then fifteen, then twenty! Soon he had a long line of trucks, twenty in all!

"What's Diesel doing?" cried Percy.

"He thinks he's the world's strongest engine!" replied Thomas.

Diesel didn't know that the shutters had set the brakes on the trucks! The troublesome trucks knew, but encouraged Diesel to push anyways.

"Push, push, push!" cried the trucks.

Diesel pushed and pushed and pushed, but the trucks didn't move! So Diesel decided to pull the trucks instead.

"Heave ho, heave ho! You can pull but we won't go!" sang the trucks.

This made Diesel very cross. He pulled so hard, that he was loosened from the trucks! His brakes fell loose, and he fell right into a barge!

"Grease and oil!" Diesel sulked, as the trucks laughed and laughed!

Henry was finally mended, and took Sir Topham Hatt to the docks. He was beyond, and I mean BEYOND cross.

"I am very ashamed at you Diesel! I thought you could be a very respectful diesel, but I was wrong!" he said crossly. "Henry, can you make up for lost time?"

"Oh yes sir!" Henry replied as he set away. Sir Topham Hatt turned back to Diesel.

"Because of what you've done, I am sending you back to where you belong. If you are to ever return back to Sodor, you must become respectful and useful!"

Diesel stared crossly at everyone, as he was towed off. The engines had learned a very valuable lesson.

"Even troublesome trucks can do you a favor sometimes." chuffed Thomas.

"Yeah, like getting rid of Diesel!" puffed Percy.
