Hello... this is the first of a 3-part small oneshot series in the lives of Fred and Hermione. It is AU from the fact that Hermione did not kiss Ron, and Fred is obviously not dead. I was trying to think of a title for a Dramione plot bunny that I will not sell, since I still might use it, and I came up with this. One day, this randomly popped in my head, and... here you go. Both Part 2; Episkey, and Part 3; Scourgify, will be up soon.

Booommm!

"Fred! George! Get down here NOW!" Molly Weasley screeched as the explosion rang through out the old and dusty #12 Grimmauld Place.

Resounding footsteps were heard as the two teens sprang down the steps. George and Fred Weasley appeared, smirking lightly at their mother's expression and the mess of dishes that their explosion had caused.

"Yes, mum?" Fred asked innocently.

"Don't you take that tone with me! What did you do?" The Weasley matriarch screamed, loud enough to wake anyone up.

Fred stood there and calmly took the rant. He glanced around, not really paying attention, and adjusted his blue polo. He knew he should have been listening to his mother and taking the words to heart, but the truth was, she just didn't get he and his twin.

He snuck a look at the clock on the wall. Alarmingly, he noticed that the Leaping Lollies were almost finished, and if they weren't at exactly the right temperature, the Bouncing Charms would backfire, and there would be an even bigger explosion.

The redhead shared a look with his twin nervously. "Mum, we need to-" he started, but was cut off by the fiery woman's indignant voice.

'What?" She demanded. "Go to make something else explode? Blow up the house this time, not just the dishes?"

Fred had a fleeting thought that if she didn't let them go, that was exactly what was going to happen, but a soft pitter-patter of footsteps behind him cut off his thoughts.

"Merlin, Molly, what's going on?" His brother's friend Hermione stumbled into the room.

Fred gazed at the 18-year old, amused. Her curly hair spilled down around her shoulders, and a fluffy pink bathrobe and slippers were wrapped around herself as she sat and fixed up a cup of coffee. When she looked up at him, their gazes met, and Fred saw laughter flickering in those cinnamon eyes, along with a certain wisdom and knowingness. She had seen and some many things in her short life. They all had.

"The twins blew up the dishes," Molly grumbled.

"Well, that can be fixed," Hermione said cheerfully, once she had a cup of coffee.

Fred raised an eyebrow sceptically. She was going to stand up for them?

Hermione caught his eyes and rolled her own.

Whipping her wand out of the front pocket, she pointed it bracingly at the shattered dishes and said confidently, "Reparo."

Fred watched her as the dishes sprang themselves together and his mother sputtered about, picking them off the floor.

Hermione smirked slightly at him, and he grinned impishly.

"Now, don't go making trouble again," she chided with fake annoyance.

"Yes, Ma'am," he saluted largely, standing at attention.

Hermione rolled her eyes and glared at him disapprovingly, but there were glimmers of joy and light in her honey brown eyes.

Fred grinned as he was dragged by George up the stairs.

So, that is part one; Reparo. What did you think? Was it good for a first Fred/Hermione?
