I decided I needed to do a Nick/Lilly oneshot. So I did it. Hope you like it!

Nick wriggled his hand into mine just as the fireworks started. A thrill went through my body at the sweet gesture.

Nick was my best friend and secret love. Although now, I think we were being a bit more than friendly, with the hand holding and whatnot... I don't think even Miley or Oliver knew I was in love. I'd just figured it out for myself not too long ago, though. I was beginning to hope he felt the same way. But I was never totally sure.

He'd asked me to watch the fireworks on the beach- just us. I'd asked him if he wanted to ask Miley and Oliver too and he'd said, "Nah, I think it should just be you and me, Lils." With this little smirk on his face.

Suddenly, a loud BOOM from one of the bigger fireworks interrupted my thoughts and I jumped a little, accidentally releasing Nick's hand.

He chuckled a bit and asked, "Are you all right?"

I nodded, blushing furiously, grateful for the odd light the fireworks were giving off.

"C'mere." Nick whispered as he wrapped an arm around me and pulled me close. I smiled and rested my head on his shoulder. This was amazing.

I tried to concentrate on the fireworks, but was greatly distracted by being so close to Nick. I looked up at him and smiled again, because he was looking right at me.

"Hi." He said and smiled wider.

"Hello." I tried not to giggle. We did this a lot. Random greetings. It never got old.

"How are you?" He asked.

I had to think. I needed a word better than the normal, "Good." No, that wouldn't do.

"Wonderful." I replied. And that's how I was feeling. It was wonderful being with Nick.

"That's wonderful."

"Yes, it is."

His smile suddenly softened and he looked serious, but his eyes were thoughtful.

Nick's POV

"Lilly?" I asked.

"Yeah?" Her brows furrowed in confusion.

"I have to tell you something."

"Okay." Concern shone in her beautiful blue eyes.

I took a deep breath and looked out into the sparkling fireworks display, then back at her.

"I love you."

Then, for a split second she looked utterly confused, but I didn't see the rest because I was kissing her, and she kissed me back. It was better than I had ever dreamed.

We finally had to pull away, but we were both smiling like lunatics. I leaned in quickly and kissed her once more. If it was possible, she was smiling even brighter.

"I love you, too." She said, and wrapped her arms around my neck. I put my arms around her and hugged her tight to me. I never wanted to let her go.

Lilly's POV

"That's good," He whispered into my ear, "because if you didn't, I would feel bad about doing this." And then he kissed me again and everything was perfect. I was ten million times happier than I ever thought I could be. I pulled away and smiled at him.

"I definitely feel the sparks." I remarked. He smiled.

"Ah, Lilly. I think they're more like fireworks." And he looked up into the colorful sky.
