The Doctor

He

acts like a child

excited

bouncy

but just a touch too manic to be

believable.

He has seen too much brutality.

He's running

He runs towards new planets

new species.

Runs until his muscles ache and his lungs scream for air,

he only looks forward.

Because if he looked back,

he'd see his demons nipping at his heels.

Demons run quickly but he shows them

Timelords can too.

He doesn't like reality.

He

runs to his companions

So fast that sometimes they notice

Sometimes they see the man behind the bowtie

But it scares them

humans are good at looking away.

Too used to his duality

He runs towards them

Because humans

With their lifespans so short compared to his

Will always run faster than he ever could

He has seen too much mortality

Sometimes he wonders

How things would have went

If he stayed still like the others

A thousand years and he hasn't stopped running.

Who cares about normality?
