Watching
He watches them, the woman and the child asleep on the bed, from the doorway, silent. He feels an overwhelming need to protect them, though he has a feeling the woman would object to his
over-protectiveness.
But he can't help himself. It has been so long since he has had a family, so long since he has loved someone so much that he wanted to have a family.
He moves from the doorway to the bedside. The woman's eyes open drifting up until they meets his.
"Hey, Spaceman." She gives him a sleepy smile.
He smiles back. "Hey, Earthgirl." He lays down on the bed behind the woman wrapping his arms around her and their infant daughter still sleeping within the protective embrace of her mother.
"Is something wrong?" Donna asks him.
"No," he answers her "everything is just right."
