Lily sat in the Gryffindor Common Room, crying terribly hard. Her boyfriend, Neville Lovegood had just broken up with her; ruthlessly. James, Albus, Hugo and Rose were hardly any help. "He's a git" James said. "Who needs him?" Hugo asked. "Why lose tears over a loser?" Rose preached. "What they said" Albus agreed.
But they didn't help. Then the portrait door swung open and Lily dared to look up. Wiping away her tears so she could see, the blurry image became clearer. "Teddy?" she gasped, "What're you doing here?" she asked. Teddy was nineteen years old and had graduated two years ago.
"I came to visit Victoire, but I don't know where the Ravenclaw Common Room is" he shrugged, "James told me the password" Teddy had been in Gryffindor, after all so he was allowed in the Common Room. "But never mind that, what's wrong Lils?" he asked his Godfather's favorite child.
"Nothing" she said, blowing her nose and rubbing her eyes.
"C'mon Lils" he begged.
"Neville dumped me"
"That git? Who needs him? You don't need to lose tears over losers, Lily" Teddy said.
"You talked to them, didn't you?" she asked
"Yeah." he admitted
"Is that why you came here?" she asked
"Of course. Lily. I know where every Common Room is, I was Head Boy, remember?" he reminded her.
"Thanks, but you won't help me feel better" she said.
"Why not? I am Teddy Lupin" he said, "And I remember something that used to always cheer you up as a kid."
"What?" she asked
"This" he turned his hair a bright red, then orange, then yellow, then green, then blue, then purple, then a mousy brown, then pitch black.
"Rainbow hair" she said, smiling, remembering what her 'cousin' had done to make her feel better.
"There's my favorite smile" he said.
"Thanks Teddy"
"Remember, Teddy's always there for you" he reminded her. She walked over to him and hugged him tight.
"Now" he said as they released each other, "Any idea where my girlfriend might be?" he asked
"Sure' the fifth year said as she pulled out the Marauder's Map
"How'd you get that?" he asked
"Stole it from James" she shrugged
He chuckled as they looked down at the map and spotted Victoire's dot, sitting in the library.
