Author's Note: Second published fanfic.Yes it is another NejiTenten story. I wrote this a while back, I couldn't think of any other AUs that High school, but that's so typical. So I came up with meeting at a gym instead. And yes, I know the characters are a little out of character, but I did my best, seeing how romantic Neji is. Anyways, Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto now, I doubt I ever will.

Hitting the Target

By: Cee Head

He smirked amusedly as, once again, the girl with the darts went to the front desk to apologize and pay for the dart she split cleanly in half.

It's funny how much you can learn from observing someone silently. For instance, Neji knew that that girl broke a pair of darts every other day, he also knew that she liked favoured the silver darts over the black darts. And that she had deadly aim.

Neji had been watching that peculiar girl with the brown hair for half a year now. Heck, he'd bought a membership at the gym just to see her. But even in watching her for such a long time, he had yet to learn her name.

Tenten turned around to catch the gaze of a certain white-eyed stranger. In a motion of self defense, she glared at him and willed herself not to blush.

Tenten watched as the stranger's eyes widened, and then his lips twitched upward into a smirk. She had watched him long enough to know that his was his expression of content.

Day after day, she had watched this man, she knew he came to the gym right after work, that he enjoyed mutilating punching backs, and never took a break until her finished his workout.

Smoothing down the hem of her shirt, she recalled the first time she'd seen him. He first came to the gym accompanying a guy wit a strange bowl but, and who constantly shouted about the "Springtime of Youth."

It was the way he walked that caught his attention. He walked with an air of self confidence, but not so much as to be arrogant. But there was something about him that made him unapproachable.

Sighing, Tenten walked to the table where both she and the white eyed stranger placed their belongings. She picked up a bottle of water and drank from it.

"Excuse me, I believe that my water?" A voice called from behind her.

Tenten practically chocked on the water, then she realized it was the guy she watched who was speaking to her.

"What?" She managed to choke out.

The stranger emitted a low, rumbling chuckle. "Hyuga Neji." He offered his hand to her.

"Huh?" She looked at him, puzzled, "Oh yeah! Hi, I'm Tenten."

Neji smirked. This girl was getting more and more interesting. He looked at her carefully, she was still holding his bottle of water, and in the other hand were the broken darts. She wore her hair in two buns, and her bangs were plastered to her forehead with sweat. Her chocolate brown eyes had a faraway look, her lips in a contented smile and an overall pleased expression on her face. Her light pink tank top was damp with sweat, and she looked comfortable in her loose sweatpants.

"Uh…so are you going to give that back?" Neji asked.

At the sound of his voice, Tenten snapped back to reality. "Oh, um…here." She handed him the bottle.

"Forget this," Neji said, "how about we get a coffee instead?"

Tenten looked at him quizzically. "Okay, I guess. But only if you let me treat. I stole your water."

Neji smirked. "Okay."

They picked up their belongings and started out the door. Tenten realized that she still held the darts, she turned around and shot them towards the board, hitting perfectly on bulls eye.

Neji and Tenten met again, and again. Meeting not only for coffee, but for dinner, movies and others. Any day now, they'd be engaged, if Neji ever got the nerve to ask. Tenten realized, months later, that day, when he'd asked her to get coffee, she'd hit the target perfectly, in more ways than one.

And that, my friends, is the end of the story. Reviews are much appreciated!
