Overprotective

"You're alright?"

Beckett sighed. Castle stared at her expactantly, and she rolled her eyes.

"Yes, Castle, for th hundreth time I've told you today, I'm alright." She answered him. "Now stop interrupting me with stupid repetitive questions and let me do my work." She scrolled down the file in her computer. "The victim's financial record is clean... no sign of any illegal—Castle!" She exclaimed when Castle pulled the computer out from her vision. "What are you doing?" She protested.

"The radiation from the screen might affect the baby!" He said defensively, his writer mind was starting to take control over him. Beckett groaned, and took back the monitor.

"Castle, I love you, but if you do anything like that again, I'll shoot you." She threatened him. When he didn't respond, she went back to her computer screen. "Phone records indicates that he'd been calling the same number—ow!" She gently placed her hand onto her stomach.

"What? What hapened? Did you just get into labor? Do I need to call an ambulance? I'll call an ambulance." He frantically grabbed his hone and started to dial the hospital number, but Beckett snatched it with her other hand.

"I'm only 5 months along, Castle." She said, being reasonable. "The baby just kicked, that's all." She reassured him.

"But what if the kick caused you an internal bleeding? Or crushed your ribs?" He said dramatically. Beckett rolled her eyes again. The writer could be very irrational sometimes.

"Look, Castle, I'm fine. I'm not exposed to major radiation, internally bleeding, or having my ribs crushed. Now stop worrying." She said, exasperated.

He looked like he was about to argue, but Beckett's phone rang, interrupted him. She smirked at him and picked it up, "Beckett."

She listened to the caller closely, "Mhm? Yeah, okay, I'll be there." She closed her phone. "That was Lanie. She found a lead." She was about to stand up when Castle pushed her back to her seat. "Castle, what—?" She glared at him.

"No, you'll not be going to the lab." He told her sternly. "I mean, what if the smell of the dead body triggers the baby to vomit inside your womb? I'll go." Before she could say any protest, he was already gone, grabbing a confused Ryan on the way.

She just sighed and shook her head. Esposito snickered behind her, and she glared at his friend. "It's not funny, Espo." She said. The detective shrugged and went back to his computer.

"Just wait until you reach 9 months." He said, eyes was still focusing on the screen. "I'd be surprised if he lets you out." He commented.

Beckett couldn't help but chuckled.

Fin.
