Chapter One: Two Ghosts
Melinda was closing up her shop when she saw the two ghosts fighting in the back room. She had hands on her hips when she walked in there. "What are you two fighting about?" She asked them.
The ghosts looked at her. One was a young teenager and older 20ish, younger 30ish man. "Who are you?" The teenager asked, popping up right next to her.
"I'm Melinda. What's your name?"
"That's a pretty name. It like coldish. I like it." The teenager said.
"Well, what were you two fighting about?" She asked again.
The teenager put her hands on her hips than looked at the man. She smiled. "She's a little snipping." The man said. "No one can see us but you, why?" He asked.
"It's a long story." Melinda laughed. The teenager smiled.
"I gotta go. Bye!" She waved her hand than was gone.
The man laughed. "How wonderful she is. That's my cue." He left.
Back at home, Melinda picked at her food as Jim talked. Jim looked at his wife. "Are you ok?" He asked. "I'm fine. Just, weird run in today." She replied.
"Ghosts?" He asked.
"Two. Attached to each other. A teenager and a man. They kinda funny. Well, the teenager is at least." Melinda smiled. "They were fighting in my back room. She left before answering my question and he went after her."
"Why are they attached to each other?" Jim asked. "Have you seen that before?"
"I have seen ghosts attached to things but not to each…" She stopped talking when she noticed the two ghosts in her living room. She sighed. "They're here." She said in a singly voice. She got up and went into the living room. "Hi."
The girl turned around and Melinda noticed what she was wearing. She was wearing short shorts and a yellow tank top with a sliver swimsuit under it. "What are you looking at?" She snapped at her.
Melinda put up her hands. "Sorry. Sorry." She looked at the teenager and than the man, who was dressed nicely. He wore dark blue jeans and a light blue button down t-shirt. "Why are you here?"
"You're a little slow, aren't you?" The girl laughed.
"Be nice." The man warned. The teenager started to walk around, "Is this your house?"
"Yup. Home sweet home." Melinda smiled. "I keep answering your questions; why don't you answer mine."
"She doesn't like you. She says she can't trust you. I trust what she says. Why can't we trust you?" The man asked.
Melinda was a little confused. "You can trust me. I can help you."
The girl turned to the man. "He's home." Than they were gone.
Jim was behind and asked her, making her jump. "Did they tell you what the want?"
"No. But he says that he can't trust me. That she said they can't trust me."
"Eli." The girl said. "Your home."
Eli sat on his couch drinking a glass of organe juice. "And you two are back."
