'Twas the night before Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas, when Kate Beckett was in her house
She was lying in bed all alone, dressed in her favorite blouse;
The stocking was hung by the chimney with care,
Even though she wasn't expecting anyone there;
She was nestled all snug in her bed,
While visions of Castle danced in her head;
Kate was trying to fall asleep or at least take a nap,
But she couldn't stop seeing Castle and herself in his lap;
She was tossing in bed but sleep wasn't coming her way
Just like Castle, who was also still awake far, far away.
Away from her loft, he was lying in his own bed,
And Kate Beckett was the only thing in his head;
They closed their eyes at the same time and instantly saw,
The Christmas lights and the luster of the new-fallen snow;
When, what to Kate's wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer
With a tall handsome driver, so lively and quick,
Kate knew in a moment that it must be St Rick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called her by name;
"Kate, sweet Kate, come over here!
And give your husband a kiss right now, dear!"
"Okay. I promise, I'll give you, Saint Rick,
But later, for now, just one quick."
As Kate's lips touched his, Rick felt like flying to the sky,
Even though it was winter he felt warm like in July.
Then up to the house-top the coursers he flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and Kate Claus too.
And then, in a twinkling, they heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof;
As they opened their eyes, and were turning around,
Both woke from their dream and heard the strange sound.
As they were lying in their beds, warm and soft,
They rose to get up, each one in his own loft;
Castle and Kate walked to the other room on foot
And looked at their fireplaces filled with ashes and soot;
Their stockings were empty, nothing was left
And yet nothing was missing so it wasn't a theft;
They hurried to see their own Christmas tree
And gave no time the intruder to flee;
They saw each other at once, in the same room
As they looked around and heard a loud boom;
Kate ended up with Rick, in spite of herself
As she looked at the intruder, the jolly old elf;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave Castle to know he had nothing to dread;
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving them a nod, up the chimney he rose;
As he was flying, eight tiny reindeer pulling his sleigh,
Saint Nick had no doubts, he just knew right away;
Castle and Kate were made for each other
Their dream was a hint, he needn't another;
Castle and Kate, now all alone in the same room
They looked at each other, ignoring the fume;
They knew their wish was granted by Saint Nick
His, to be with Kate, and hers - to be with Rick;
So they turned around, looked at the sky
Searching for Santa, waving goodbye;
They heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!"
