My first contribution to FanFiction.net, wee! :D This snippet does come with a warning though, as it deals with death in more ways than one (and that includes CHARACTER DEATH!). The name of the person who tells this "story" is also left unmentioned, because I'd like for everyone to decide that for themselves. Nice, huh?

I'd like to dedicate "Jarred for Life" to my dear friend and beta, Restina Lovebug!

Have you ever wondered what's really in those jars our Potions Master keeps in his office? Dear friend, if you're prepared to dismiss them as disgusting little bugs then you'll be most appalled to learn that truth really is stranger than fiction. Professor Snape used to have a dream, you see, about having a child of his own. But being the private and proud person he is, Snape relied on his abilities as a Potions Master and thereby refused to turn to any one of us for neither help nor advice. He secretly concocted brew upon brew down in his draughty dungeons, drank them one by one and got pregnant time after time. Still he kept it all to himself, even when he gave birth to what could only be described as toads, horned slugs and even a house-elf at one point. Something always went wrong in the making of this impregnating potion - perhaps his cauldron wasn't clean enough? - and although his resulting offspring seemed to resemble pure human a little more for each pregnancy, Snape continued to deliver a new stillborn and unidentifiable creature every nine month. Up until this day I despise myself for not suspecting a thing when I watched him gain weight, lose it in a flash and then suddenly have another beast to store in its respective jar, staring down from a shelf where it would eternally rest among its. siblings. So you're asking how I finally found out? Well, I may not be the Headmaster here at Hogwarts' School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, but it didn't take a wise man to spot the changes in Snape at the end. The end? Yes, he died. There is no such thing as a jar big enough to contain a wild Centaur and apparently. neither could Snape.
