"Let's live in the moment, Aigis. Our mission is over, the world is safe." That was what Yukari told me, kissing my cheek as we made it to our new dorm. I still miss the old dorm, the one we all lived in: Me, Yukari Takeba, and the others, but they're not important in this part of my life, but I'll tell you about them someday. Anyways, my name is Aigis, a machine created to fight the Shadows, but those days are over. During our last adventure, we finished the fight, completing our goal, at the cost of multiple people dear to us… However, I became human, for reasons I alone know, unable to explain, not because it's too complicated, but because it's my reason alone. We've all gone our separate ways. Now I'm a senior in Gekkoukan High School, along with Yukari Takeba, my best friend, and... Recently... Something more...
My day began its new norm, I prepared for school. I looked for Yukari, unsuccessfully. I determined that she probably went on ahead of me, so I headed out. However, little did I know of our team's vacation, given to us by the Kirijo Group, founder of our old group, SEES. Making it to school, my phone rang. "This is Aigis." I answered. "Where are you, Aigis?" The voice asked. It was Mitsuru Kirijo, newly appointed president of the Group, and former leader of SEES.
"I'm at school. Anyways, what's happening, Mitsuru?" Probably not, but something in my stomach told me to ask this question. "Yes, she's with us, on our vacation. Remember?" I sighed. That explains it. "Can you come get me?" She couldn't tell, but I was blushing, trying to figure out how I forgot this. "Of course." Suddenly, Mr. Ekoda came up to me. "There are no phones on school grounds. You should know that, Aigis." I laughed a bit. "Would you like to speak to Ms. Kirijo?" I bluffed. He walks away, mumbling "Not again… How do all these kids have connections to her?" I walked, out to the school, after a satisfying "Tres bien." from Mitsuru, hanging up the phone.
Making it to Yakushima on one of the Kirijo Group's private jets, I literally jump out and hug everyone. "Hello, everyone, sorry I made you wait for me", I apologized. Luckily, no one but Junpei was mad, which meant we were all happy. "Well, even here, you're my roommate, Aigis." Yukari smiled. "I wouldn't have it any other way." I smiled back.
Heading to my room, me and Yukari made jokes about Junpei's "Operation: Babe Hunt" from last year. Junpei was probably listening to every word, but that's what girls do, according to Yukari. I could get used to this… "Will this help me to live in the moment, Yukari?" I asked, already knowing the answer, but wanting to tease her, I mean, make sure I was correct. She smiled. "Yep, this is also one of the best ways!" She exclaims. "No school for a week… I'm surprised Mitsuru allowed this, I know our education is important to her…" As she talked, I had an idea. "Hey, Yukari, what's the best way to live in the moment?" I blushed, asking teasingly. "Well, it depends on the person, for example, Junpei or Akihiko's idea may be different from mine… Speaking of mine…" She smiled. "This is mine." She lightly kissed me on the lips, both of us blushing. "What about "his" way of living in the moment?" I realized what I had said, my eyes tearing up. "Aigis… We promised to fufill his final wish, remember?" She hugged me, crying as well. "Let's go live in the moment Yukari, like he wanted." I wiped her tears, as we left our room for our vacation.
