Temari ran down the steps of her apartment that she temporarily lived in with her two brothers Kankuro and Gaara. They were visiting for a while. Gaara found his meaning in life now, so he is a little more cheerful. Temari didn't get a lot of attention as a child so she was a little bit of a loner, even though she had Kankuro and Gaara.
"Gaara, Kankuro! I'm goin to see Shikamaru; I'll be back in a couple minutes!" Temari yelled from the bottom of the stairs. Temari had a crush on that troublesome chuunin ever since the chuunin exams. Temari grabbed her fan and ran out of the house. She thought about him all the way to his small house. When she got to his house she tried to hold back her tears. She stopped dead in her tracks and stared at Ino and Shikamaru walking up the driveway holding hands. Once they reached the top of the steps, they hugged each other. Shikamaru turned around hastily because he heard Temari whimper. "Temari, wait!" Shikamaru yelled, but Temari was already half way up the street.
Temari hadn't really known what true love was but she guessed that Shikamaru and Ino had it. While she was running down the street it began to get dark. Temari wasn't scared but she felt weird wondering the streets of Konoha alone. She felt hot tears roll down her cheeks. She didn't cry a lot and she didn't like this feeling. She was so busy trying to hold back her tears that she wasn't looking where she was going. The next thing she new she was face to face with that brown haired dog boy, Kiba Inuzuka. Temari remembered him from the chuunin exams. The big-mouthed hot-headed kid who carried his dog on his head. They both stood there for a couple seconds staring at each other. Temari, coming back to her normal self, said, "Watch where you're going, Dog Boy!"
Kiba backed away and said, "What are you talking about, it's your entire fault!" They both glared at each other until Kiba noticed Temari's watery eyes. "Whatcha cryin' for," Kiba asked as his tone changed. "It's……its nothing," Temari said as she wiped her tears onto her beige shirt. "C'mon I know something's wrong," Kiba said. This was one of the few times Kiba was actually listening to what someone had to say.
This was also one of the few times Temari spoke about her feelings. So, Temari told Kiba Shikamaru and Ino and how she had a crush on Shikamaru ever since the Chuunin Exams. While she explained Kiba thought about Hinata and how she broke his heart a couple days ago. He thought it was true love. This brought tears to even the tough Kiba Inuzuka's eyes. "What's wrong with you now?" Temari asked Kiba. "I thought she loved me!" Kiba cried as he bolted down the road.
Temari didn't want to upset Kiba any more so she walked slowly down the street. As she walked she thought. Not about Shikamaru, but about that hot-headed, big-mouthed, brown-haired Dog Boy, Kiba Inuzuka.
