The Moment
Beverly fumbled on the collar of his dress uniform.
"Get this collar fixed", she said trying to get it straight.
He frowned his mind absorbed with her closeness. She smelled so wonderful. Her hand so warm. Her touch so exquisit. Her hair softly brushing over his neck when she leaned in to have a better look.
He turned his head to search her lips.
Just a soft kiss.
She stopped fumbling.
His lips stayed on hers.
She wasn't moving away.
Then he felt her lips open.
Just a little.
Inviting him in.
He moved his hand to her waist to steady them.
Their tongues started dancing.
When they came back for air she moved a small step back. His hand slid of her waist. She smiled.
"What was that?"
He smiled back. Lifting his shoulders a bit he answered innocently.
"Just seizing the moment."
Then he offered her his arm to signal for them to enter the reception together.
Beverly let out a tiny laugh. She shook her head, her red locks dancing. She lay her flat hand on his chest, right above his heart.
"Jean Luc?"
He smiled, signaling her to continue.
"Do you have another moment?"
